  1. ah I dont mind the jags Im actually a fan of Jack Del Rio, not a huge spurs fan im actually a Celtics fan and I never really got much into hockey but ive been to a Stars game so if i had to choose its inbetween the Bruins and the Stars. Do you have a favorite Soccer team?
  2. ok...are you a Patriots fan? a Rockets (just guessing here because there are 3 teams in my home state ha or maybe the magic or heat if you are referring to where i currently live) fan? and a Philly Flyers fan?
  3. plus Young is a favorite in Texas, I realize he is aging and has a disgusting contract but the Rangers want to hold on to him as long as possible. Now I know that often times fan bases can be fickle and not see the big picture but the sox are going to have the same feeling when Papi goes, we know its time for him to go soon but that doesnt make us willing to let go of one of the most loved Sox players of all time. And most teams avoid pissing off the fans if they can avoid it.
  4. well im from texas so my team is probably a minority here and there are probably alot of people who hate it but I am a Cowboys fan. and Roger Staubach is my favorite player of all time.
  5. if our choices are Hardy and Guzman I go Hardy no doubt.
  6. I think that we can do this but of course there is a big difference in "can do it" and actually doing it...im just a little pessimistic right now concerning this team.
  7. yeah I know what you are saying, but hey this team could use a bit of fire and emotion driving it, but like I said earlier either way its a good choice. and anyways this topic is kind of off subect and pointless
  8. that kind of goes hand in hand with what i was saying and the "horoscope speak" is refferring to intangibles which is what i belive are the primary reasons for being a Capitain.
  9. obviously im not Jacko but I will awnswer to Q1: yes to Q2: maybe not but given the ability of Hindsight id still sign him just with maybe a little less $$$ BUT how much less would he have taken and still signed?
  10. sorry for the contrasting wording inbetween the title and the poll itself should have thought out the title a bit better.
  11. ha my bad...does it take a Mod to edit it or are the results forever skewed? I wanted to give a question that wasnt black or white, maybe you should read the question carefully next time.
  12. ahead of you chief
  13. Figured with all the Drew debates Id create a post and try to get what everyone thinks.
  14. I like Youk for it, he is very humble and is not afraid to talk seriously to his teammates (see the Manny v. Youk dougout debacle) I think he is a team first player who does anything the team needs him to do to the best of his ability. and he always is looking to better himself before critisizing others, he is his own motivator.
  15. as you can tell by my username I do love Pedroia but I think Youk would be a good pick too and I think that having a good team leader as capitain provides an intangible that is important (even if you arent a fan of intangibles) so we need not wait too long to assign another team capitain and Pedroia and Youk are both great options IMO.
  16. Thank you for the compliment on the beautiful visual I provided
  17. I WILL AGREE WITH THAT!!!! WOW THIS IS REALLY FUN TALKING IN ALL CAPS, IT MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK MORE INTENSE.
  18. http://www.hittrackeronline.com/parks/Gonzalez_Adrian_2009_scatter.jpg here is the scattering of Gonzos HR in Petco park if he can place them like that in that park he can kill at fenway.
  19. I think Gonzos Power numbers would be above tex's at fenway but with all things considered i would put Gonzo and Tex in that second tier under Pujols and Cabrera. in other words they are both very close in value.
  20. either could be called for and I say goodbye Capitain. (only question is who will be our Capitain now? Youk?)
  21. the only reason i would put Tex up close to him is that he is a good switch hitter and he is far superior defensively but i still dont think he is quite as valuable as gonzo...
