  1. Russel Branyan wouldnt be bad on a 1 year deal, I honestly didnt mind LaRoche I realize its weak there but we could pick up an adequate 1B from another team for relatively little, we dont need to I just think we could do it pretty easily.
  2. imho there is no reason not to try to get someone better for cheap, either through FA or as part of a trade, for cheap to a 1 or 2 year deal, i will say that 1B is not anywhere close to our primary concern but its something that can be easily fixed for relatively little and it can really help the lineup. dont get me wrong Kotchman is exactly what we need...warming the bench.
  3. there are 14 1B with above 20 HRs so far this year you figure that most of those should reach 30 by the end of the season, most of the 1B below that are splitting time with someone, have injury issues or are young. there are only 6 1B currently with less than 65 RBIs most of those with 65+ RBIs this year should reach 100. Kotchman is below average by far for a 1B, he is however a great backup and does have very solid Defense.
  4. How many are working on 25/90 because I think that number is alot larger.
  5. Peabody Mass. hit a walk-off grand slam to beat Williamsport Rhode Island 11-7 it was a good game...
  6. That is awful for a 1B a good first baseman should be atleast pushing 30 HR and 100 RBI, its expected from a 1B and its not that hard to fine 1B who defend decently and hit better.
  7. this is ridiculous. Back to out Uber comfortable .5 game WC lead. is a 3 run Homer to tie the game in the 9th too much to ask for?
  8. I just saw a close call at second in the Rhode Island v. Mass. game and it reminded me that Ive been ejected from two games in my life for arguing with an ump one, believe it or not was in T-Ball debating a call at 3B where I called him a butthead and gave him the finger (didnt know what it meant just knew it was insulting), my mom beat the hell out of me for that and i never played any little league again the second was in the bleachers in highschool and there was a horrible and I mean horrible call at the plate and I screamed quite a few drunken obscenities to the ump and he actually did the whole ejection throw and the security gaurd and principle threw me out of the stands lol. It just made me realize why I never could have played Little League id get more ejections in a season than Bobby Cox has in his career.
  9. the fact that Almonte was 2 years older negates alot of that, the difference inbetween 12-13 and 14-15 is huge but he did throw a no-no and a perfect game and that is still impressive.
  10. This. very very well posted sir.
  11. holy s***, how is that kid 12-13 years old, im not sure that he isnt on roids I mean he looks like barry bonds in that pic and he is only 13! that is just crazy, do they know for sure that he wasnt lying about his age like that one pitcher? I canr remember where he was from but I want to say he was from like venezuela.
  12. Most definitely, and for how large the K zone is many of them are far more patient at the plate too, of course to me fundamentals are the most important thing in little league a fundamentally sound team can smoke a team with more talent in little league.
  13. the team that qualified from Mass. is from Peabody.
  14. well they kind of have to have a large K zone with how inconsistent the majority of 12 year old pitchers are bound to be, having said that im watching a kid that throws 76 MPH and he isnt even hit puberty lol these kids can play ball, Rhode Island vs. Mass. right now worth watching all the hometown talent for all of you in New England. these kids can pitch and hit better than me lol I might defend better at second, but only barely...these kids are nuts.
  15. I know some of you laugh at it but I love watching these kids play, I've seen more web gem type plays in the LLWS than I have in any one MLB post season throughout the years, always fun to watch...I think that the home team in the game im watching now juices though lol.
  16. this. how is getting someone better than we have for nothing a bad move?
