  1. You realize he's not actually human, right? If Mo electrocuted himself, instead of dying he'd probably start aging like Benjamin Button and extend his career another 20 years.
  2. Yeah, should we put an over/under on how many innings he lasts or how many runs he gives up?
  3. I'm definitely watching the game.
  4. Yeah, I don't have a problem with them posting here as long as they have a sense of humor about it. It makes for good debate. At the same time, if I make a joke like, "I don't know how Burnett did it against such a prolific offense. Guess that's why the Yankees signed him" in a Red Sox forum and a Yankees fan comes in and acts like I just said Burnett beats his wife, well... you know.
  5. Yeah, Joe Morgan's a dinosaur. I'm gonna show off my analytic power and say the Dodgers have the best record in baseball right now, but as they play more games, that could change. Really going out on a limb there...
  6. Who exactly said it on the show? Let me guess... Steve Phillips?
  7. It was a great performance. I thought the joke was pretty harmless but I didn't realize there were such sensitive Yankees fans here. Kind of figured if they were posting in a Red Sox forum, they'd have thick skin.
  8. Seems like a fun guy  And thanks for the welcome. Everyone here has been really friendly and it's great to be able to talk baseball (or music, whatever) during the games.
  9. You asked a question, I answered it. This is a Red Sox fan forum you're posting in. If you're going to get your panties in a twist every time we don't get a boner over Burnett pitching well, then perhaps you should brag about the Yankees in a... Yankees forum? :dunno: Am I blowing your mind here?
  10. Whether or not we get a discount has to do with how much he's worth in the first place. I'd say he's worth at least $20 million a year on the open market and he could probably get a five year contract. If we could sign him for less than 5/$100 million I'd consider that a discount.
  11. Are you trying to say you don't think the Red Sox will be able to sign him at a discounted price, or are you just playing devil's advocate? I think it's safe to say that Jason Bay REALLY likes it in Boston.
  12. Don't go overboard now, Jeter's a dick
  13. When asked "when it comes to closers, who do you think through the years has been better than you?" he responds, Hoffman, Francisco Rodriguez, Papelbon, Joe Nathan, Soria. When asked "you think all those guys are as good as you?", he then responded, "I think they're better than me". I always liked Mo, he's one classy guy. Check out the interview, he's asked about Papelbon closing for the Yankees and the use of performance enhancers in baseball and he gives some pretty entertaining answers. http://espn.go.com/mlb/?topId=4292927&mId=4292883
  14. On the bright side, they're a lot easier to swallow when we have a game on Monday isntead of the off day.
  15. Nope, I'm pretty sure those Mets had some outfielder named Carlos Beltran in their lineup. The current Mets lineup is one of the worst in baseball.
  16. Yeah, I don't know how many teams face Jurrjens, Vazquez and Hanson on the road and win the series. Especially with their #4 and #5 pitchers going in the last two games.
  17. Damn. On the bright side, C-M Wang's pitching for the Yankees tonight. Still have to be happy with 2 out of 3 on the road while facing Vazquez and Hanson.
  18. Maybe they don't want Lugo to get hurt while they're trying to ship him out.
  19. Clutch disruption of the game!
  20. I would. It's the 9th with 2 outs.
  21. TEK! Keep it going Ellsbury. PR for Varitek?
  22. We have no hope then...
