Small sample sizes again? You're not expecting him to hit for power just because he did it in 2008, are you? He was an everyday player with the Rays.

Sure he did. Tigers in '84, Twins in '91, Jays in '92 and '93.

He's slugging .368 with 1 home run in 106 at bats. Andy Pettitte has a higher SLG% and Josh Beckett has as many home runs.

He hasn't had a good year since '06 and he's a butcher at third. Perhaps A-Rod's hip isn't feeling all that well either? He's been cringing on routine throws lately.

It's been a couple weeks since he's had a day off. Tito probably figured today against a lefty was as good as any day.

I doubt the Padres would trade him in-season, but my dream acquisition would be Adrian Gonzalez. The Red Sox showed interest in him in the past when they were trying to trade Manny Ramirez. I wonder what kind of a deal it would take though. He's signed for '10 and has an option for '11, both under $6 million. Lars Anderson, Michael Bowden, Daniel Bard? Clay Buchholz, Justin Masterson, Casey Kelly? Wonder if packages like that would be enough.

What about Ryan Garko (.260/.355/.444)? The Guardians are obviously sellers and he can play 1B, and the outfield.

If I had to guess, it would be because of his high OBP, .292/.361/.385.
