  1. Ellsbury's back of .300. That's more like him.
  2. Now THAT'S a legitimate called strike 3 (to A-Rod).
  3. Doing a little scouting of the Mariners. I'm gonna see the Red Sox play them this weekend in Boston.
  4. Ortiz is the man! This is why I'm not worried about Lowell being out a couple weeks.
  5. I don't think he's ever going to be a power hitter. But considering he was in a slump much of last year, I don't think that 9 HR, .394 slugging is the kind of hitter he'll be. He slugged .425 in his young 20's in the minors.
  6. First batter of the Yankees game, Ichiro gets called out on a 3-2 fastball in the opposite batter's box. Oy vey. EDIT: Now Joba's throwing out there trying to get the same call and getting upset they aren't giving it to him. Another 3-2 count.
  7. We don't face another lefty until the Seattle series.
  8. I think he has a lot more power than he shows last year. The majority of last year was an adjustment period for him.
  9. That was Williamsesque.
  10. If he could play defense, he'd be a dream bench player. But you know how that goes...
  11. Yup, up the middle right through the pitcher's legs.
  12. Yeah, there's a bullpen coach, a pitching coach, and a hitting coach for a reason. The manager's main job is mostly to keep the player's motivated and protect them in the media and with umpires.
  13. Sweet, going to Boston for the Seattle series this weekend!
  14. Nice! I like Pedroia so much better batting second in the order.
  15. Yeah, from what I've seen he goes a little overboard on anything injury related with the Red Sox. I think he likes it because it's all subjective and we can't prove him wrong with any objective stats.
  16. Wow, 93 mph fastball! I didn't think he was throwing that hard.
  17. He might be 230 this year, he really slimmed down. I don't know, it's hard to tell watching on TV.
  18. You did see him wince as well, right? They replayed it a few times the last game the Yankees played.
  19. "Crazy Legs" Ortiz! I've always been surprised how well he can run for a 230 lb. guy.
  20. Take that Jones! :harhar: 2-0 Sox
