    Let's be optimistic here. The "we're done dealing for now" is likely smoke screen. They know they can't win the Stanley Cup with the roster they currently have. I'm looking for it to be quiet for a while right up until September. Don't worry guys, the Bruins are pretty much in full control of Kessel right now. Kessel is still playing in their court. He isn't arbitration eligible until next year and he hasn't received any offer sheets. He likely won't until late September so that the Bruins are either forced to go ver the cap, let him walk or trade one of their forwards to match the offer. If the offer's over 4.5 mill, he's gone as the Bruins have no assets over 4.5 (Patrice Bergeron) to move. Even then my belief is that Bergeron is going to be the best player on the team next year and it would be foolish to move him. He put up 70 points before he was even old enough to buy a beer. C'mon now

    Oh okay, I didn't even read the date. Good looks man. :thumbsup: I think at the time a promotion would have been inappropriate but you have to give it a hard look now.

    There is when a pitcher absolutely dominates the AA level. He's 3rd in the Eastern League in strikeouts. He walks a decent amount of hitters but he's still at a 2:1 K:BB ratio with an ERA around 2.50. I think if you give him the rest of the season at AAA and part of next year you give him a chance to be a part of the rotation for the 2nd half of '10 and then become a full-time starter in '11.

    Rickey's HOF speech should be interesting. How many times will he use his name in the 3rd person? It's funny because him and Rice are pretty much polar opposites. Rice is overly humble and quiet while Rickey is pretty outgoing and a little cocky. Love Rickey though and I'm glad to see Rice get into the hall with him.

    Jim Rice's hall of fame induction or the Red Sox game? Of course the Rice induction won't take up the entire game but what will you be watching at 1:30 if Rice is the first speech (which he likely will be since Henderson is obviously the bigger name)?

    The thing about Anthony Rizzo is..it's his first year back from cancer so no matter how great he does or how horrible he is..you can't really judge him based on this season. I'm looking at 2010 as Rizzo's big year to prove himself but it seems like he can hit fairly well at every level. He'll have a chance to improve his power and plate discipline in Salem for the rest of 2009 and a little bit of 2010, then I see him moving to AA Portland once Anderson is with AAA Pawtucket.

    He has an impressive OPS especially considering he's only 19 and weights 185 lbs. He appears to be one of the few legit 5-tool players we've seen in this system. Every position player in the system has some sort of flaw(s) but he looks good all around. I've heard nothing but great things about him in the field, but he has been DHing most of the year.

    Josh Reddick isn't "tearing up" AA average-wise by any means..but the Eastern League is a pretty tough league for any hitter. Reddick actually has the 7th highest OPS in the league at .869 and the 6th highest HR total of 13 which is impressive considering he's only played in 57 games. I looked at his spray charts and he hits the ball consistently to all parts of the field. The only concern is that he's a guy that he strikes out twice as much as he walks. Besides that he has plus power, plus speed, a plus arm and I think an average glove. Seems like a guy that could replace J.D. Drew after his contract expires. I don't think he'll play in the big leagues next year but he COULD. What's your estimated time of arrival for Reddick?

    That's just people voting though. It's very subjective to opinion. He's certainly not #1 in terms of MLB ready.

    Duncan hit 21 HR for an OPS over .800 in 2007.

    I feel like swinging a deal for a guy like Jack Wilson is realistic. I'm a firm believer that Lowrie is seen as the long-term solution at 3rd base after Mike Lowell is gone. Lowell won't be playing everyday. He may even have stretches where he sits for 2 games in a row, while Lowrie will be playing 3rd base and Nick Green will be playing SS. I'm not sure what other moves would be made but I think that Jack Wilson is a big upgrade over Nick Green and I think that the best approach for both Lowrie and Lowell with their specific injuries could be having Lowrie playing a super sub role, with Lowell playing every other day or every 3rd day. I know it's a sin to say there's an upgrade over Nick Green *rolls eyes* because he's been a good story but he's been a career minor leaguer and there's no signs that point to him being a reliable guy in the 2nd half, especially when his batting average isn't even that great right now to begin with.
