  1. Anybody have any idea who the starters will be for Pawtucket and Portland for Future's At Fenway? August 8th It would be appreciated.

  3. With Martinez I have one question..why do we have to "see if it's okay" with some of the players like Varitek and Ortiz that have sucked balls? We should be applying pressure on them and forcing them to perform.
  4. We could still trade for Halladay...those are the biggest going I've heard.
  5. Where do you stick him in the lineup? Assuming that he's going to mostly be used as a Lowell replacement. CF Jacoby Ellsbury 2B Dustin Pedroia 3B Kevin Youkilis LF Jason Bay DH David Ortiz 1B Victor Martinez RF J.D. Drew C Jason Varitek SS Nick Green/Jed Lowrie
  6. 1:27pm: FOX now says Clay Buchholz and Daniel Bard are not in this deal.
  7. Joel Sherman says Buck's involved.
  8. Ed Price of AOL confirms Martinez is going to Boston but nobody says for who...why report it if not for who?
  9. And I point to his career batting average almost below .200. Too many mechanical flaws if you've seen video.
  10. I'm not trying to project him. I'm just saying he may be a guy to eventually look at.
  11. I think this is a guy to definitely take a look at in a few years. He's 19 years old with the GCL Red Sox. On the 2009 season he has a 1.29 ERA, 25 strikeouts, 7 walks, 1.000 WHIP in 28.0 IP. Small sample size, sure but last year he had a 2.24 ERA, 58 strikeouts, 19 walks, 1.132 WHIP in 52.1 IP as an 18-year old and in 2007 he had a 1.04 ERA, 37 strikeouts, 17 walks, 1.988 WHIP in 34.2 IP as a 17-year old. His WHIP has gotten better every year as well as his lower walk rate. I think if there's any young Dominicans to look at if any, he's the guy.
  12. I wouldn't boo him but I'll never give him a standing ovation.
  13. Seriously what's wrong with thinking Jacoby is dreamy?
  14. Not gonna hit a HR off this kid. He's a stud.
  15. Bay K, more predictable Coco.
  16. Nothing's happened yet...
  17. Rally Rally Rally Rally
  18. I'm telling you guys. 9th inning rally. Ellsbury-Pedroia-Youk for the 9th
  19. How many pennies can we get on the Penny? He...he...it's sad our discussion has come to this.
  20. This. Is. 2006. This. Is. 2006.
  21. He's hitting in a crucial power spot in the lineup. When you're hitting in the heart of the order you can't be the same type of hitter that takes so many pitches. You need to be aggressive, he's just not getting the bat on the ball. He'll get out of it.
  22. Penny apologists this is for you... http://i28.tinypic.com/dpcu9i.gif
  23. Brad Penny, Mr. Reliable.
