  1. It's been very fun the past year, because on the one hand, I feel like I've been a "casual" fan for a very very long time - of both baseball and Boston - but on the other hand, I'm still a shiny newbie. There was a long period of time in my early 20s-30s where I didn't follow baseball at all, unless I accidentally surfed into a playoff/WS game. Then hubby would sniff "boring baseball" so half the time I'd switch it away again. Heheh...mlb.tv/internet is a godsend. Altho I think I've finally got hubby to be at least semi-interested in the Red Sox progress.
  2. I guess the fact I'm not a huge sports news person until recently means I'm not up with terminology, either. Har. After a Google, I see it's anything from a ticket hotel package to the last gameday of a series. Oh well...the last time I paid much serious attention to baseball, many pitchers pitched entire games rather than having pitch-count be the tale. Things are so different, I'm playing game-changes-catchup as well as memory catchup.
  3. What is getaway day? So much to learn once one can watch every game.
  4. Dinner: teriyaki beef w/rice & broccoli. The game tomorrow starts very early...is that odd for a weekday?
  5. I'm in the "I like this lineup" category. Now...pitch well, hit hard, and JFW.
  6. There's been some articles where Pap said he's been changing his mechanics on purpose to try and ensure his long term longevity. ie, I don't think he has injury now, but he's looking to avoid potential injury by finding other ways to toss that aren't as hard on his arm. Maybe whatever he's doing ... isn't working very well ...
  7. Hey NY...lose please.
  8. Agreed. Even our best hitters, blocked. *switches to NY*
  9. 2-out magic? Hahaha.... ...once again, at least the other teams lost today. "cept NY's still playing.
  10. OK, just need at least 4 runs! Preferably more!
  11. Showered, got some chinese food .... and we're still losing, I see. :/ Really quieted our batters tonight. At least my belly will be full of yummy in a moment.
  12. Probably not. Opera has an option where you can set a time for refreshing something, but when I tried, it sure wasn't the reloading site info. Guess I can look for a FF add-on.
  13. Is there an app that will make your browser auto-refresh a page or something? (I get tired of hitting 'reload'...)
  14. That was a funny half and half jacket that fan was wearing.
  15. He always looks really pissed, like he suddenly realized, that second, how much he sucks.
  16. Lugo is so fail. Even if that didn't cost us.
  17. If Ortiz suddenly starts to get hot in that 6th spot, don't move him back. As always, "just win."
  18. I love Wakefield. I may poke him when he's not having a good day, but I still love him. For one thing, I admire successful knuckleballers. There haven't been tons of them, and there's very few now. For another, I always like/root for older players who are still makin' good (since I'm not a spring chicken myself anymore...). I'm not sure about The Hall of Fame, tho.
  19. The current state of "I want you playing in my team" love for any player is always dependant on the "what have you done for me lately" rule. Penny, as mentioned, has those initial awful starts. People groaned, people despaired, people made fun. As months go by, if he remains decent and largely consistent, people will love him as a whole. Or at least respect.
  20. Amalie Benjamin Twittered that earlier. I guess Penny's a trouper.
  21. Serious? I echo the LOL then. I turned the game off to do other things, since I don't care much about either team. I did think "It's only the 4th inning, so..." Couldn't believe the Giants scored 8 runs today either...they haven't been doing too well recently. Hahaha....that's baseball.
  22. LOL - make that 5-0 now. Rays some hits etc. I'm not cheering for the Rays so much as I'm laughing at the poor Guardians.
  23. Ray's beating the Guardians 3-0, top of 2nd, due to bad Guardians pitching. 4 walks...hahaha
  24. At least we won, so, yeah. Hubby ran out of (auto) gas ... lol ... gotta run.
