    I had a similar injection in my knee four years ago. It had little effect. And my knee was more irritated from the injection. As a rule, inter-articular injections are damaging to the soft tissue surrounding the area of concern. That had to be a long needle! Ouch! Result vary widely. My knee was junk. I eventually had it scoped. I hope he recovers soon and derives maximum benefit from the injection. At best, the results will be temporary. He'll need subsequent injections.
