I noted at the All-Star break that I found it curious that people could not see V-Mart catching Wake. What is the big deal? It will just take practice and repetition. Any MLB catcher should be able to do the job. Maybe it's a new challenge for most, but hell, it's their job! Had Miribelli (sp) or Kottaras cought a knuckleballer before working with Wake? Well, maybe Kot worked with Zink (SP).

So Kottaras has stubbed his toe. Hmmm. The interesting thing is that Wake is now due back before Kottaras. It'll be fun to count the past balls in his absence.

I do my best for you J_E.! Really, what is the debate? The lineup will be in flux for the remainder of the season from what we can see. Francona was just thrown this s***. He'll just have to make it work. Somehow. I'm actually interested to see Reddick. Maybe he struggles, maybe not? It would be cool to see V-Mart get off to a hot start with the Sox. We all take for granted the comings and goings of players in trades, etc. V-Mart was very upset yesterday. Normally I might comment that my heart pumps piss for a millionaire athlete. But I was reminded that these guys are human yesterday as Masterson and V-Mart were exiting their clubhouses.

Pardon. I hate to interrupt the fun. Some here may recall that I was a proponent of acquiring V-Mart several weeks ago. At the time, my rationale was simple. His versatility.... switch hitter (with some pop), 1st base, catcher, and occasional DH. He is still relatively young, and is reasonably priced as far as his existing contract goes. I'm glad that we got him. I would prefer to have Gonzalez, but not at such a huge price as was being required by Towers. I just don't understand the circuitous route the Sox took to get him. They went out and got LaRoache and as a consequence, DFA'ed Kotsay. Now, after getting V-Mart, they unload LaRoache for Kotchman. Why was this necessary? What was the plan? Couldn't we just have kept Kotsay (OF,1st) and dealt to get V-Mart? Some kind of roster move would have had to ensue. Maybe Kotsay is dumped anyway. I understand why LaRoache was dealt for Kotchman. I just think we would have been better off holding onto Kotsay for a back-up OF. Whatever. I don't think any of these moves puts the Sox over the hump to get to the playoffs. It looks like it will be a struggle to take the Wild Card, let alone overtake the Yankees.

Hahahaha! I have my doubts about Johnson's ability to play in south Florida. He's a fat f*** with no apparent aerobic capacity. I think the Marlins need to have a crash cart at the ready every time he takes the field. And another thing, health care in the Miami/Dade area just sucks. A concern for a player that seems to need medical attention so frequently.

I did not know Crespo is 19. He acts like such an adult. Seriously, I love my Daughter. I do get bored watching some of her shows but treasure the time spent with her. Sasha likes Talksox too! She knows who most of the Usual Suspects are. YOTN, CoCo, Dipre, Dojji (her favorite avatar), etc.. She is not a big baseball fan but likes seeing her Dad enjoy himself on Talksox. I think that's cool.

I'm guessing that the Sox paid the $1.mil. to help defray the additional expense of LaRoaches contract. Kotchman has a mini contract, I believe.
