  1. Lowrey is done for the year. He may be back on the field but no sane person should expect any more offensive production form him than what he has shown to date. I hope he can strengthen his wrist during the off season and come to spring training ready to play. Gonzalez is a stopgap measure. He is clearly better than Woodward and offers no upgrade over Green offensively. He is here to add depth at middle infield. The Sox are going backwards, and have been since before the all star break. Gonzalez will have little bearing on how the season plays out, nor would any of the likely alternatives. Taken in that context, I'm ok with the move.
  2. Neither. But Reddick if forced to choose. He has some up-side and at least has shown some ability to hit MLB pitching. Anderson is a bust and will not be of value after this season. The downside to Reddick being with the Sox would be he would not be playing enough to continue to develop. Is Anderson an Albino?
  3. On the other hand his presence may inhibit development of guys like Tazawa, Buch, and Bowden. Who f***ing knows? If there are any reasons not to bring this guy aboard then pass. This season is an embarrassment already. Why compound it?
  4. What was wrong with Troy O'Leary? He played well.
  5. The Sox are done. This guy is not worth the $11-12Mil that Texas is on the hook for, I believe. But for the pro-rated portion of the vet. minimum, why not? We can always use another plunk machine. I wonder about the $1.75 mil. buy-out though. If the Sox are on the hook for that, pass.
  6. The Sox are about to be on that scrap heap so what difference would it make?
  7. Too bad. Just a though I've had.
  8. I'd really like to see Curt Suzuki play for the Sox. V-Mart at 1st, Youk at 3rd.
  9. I'm guessing that Jacko does not expect Wake or Dice to be able to go deep into games and that Tazawa would provide long relief.
  10. Papi's " tease" is a metaphor for the Sox season. Just enough to sustain our interest, and not enough ultimately to satisfy our desire for a championship.
  11. Common sense post from Gom? Well, yes. The Yankees are clearly the best team in the ALE. Texas is built to win (at least short term). The Sox are playing near .500 ball and will be on the outside looking in come October. Big deal.
  12. JV s***? I was going to take this thread tongue in cheek but if you are going to insult a young man who was not around during the era where these "Warriors" achieved such lofty status and unparalleled performance, well then, f*** YOU TWIT. Leave the kid alone.
  13. On the bright side, the right side of my avatar is high beam action.
  14. s***, Anderson is pale. He needs SPF 30 (at least) during night games.
  15. I just want to say that I consider it to be a privilege to be interacting with everyone on the thread tonight. We come from divergent cultures and remote locations and yet we share a common interest and passion. Peace to you all.
  16. We haven't seen his best or worst just yet. But yeah, he has a glove. And arm.
  17. The lo-life Texas fans are booing Ortiz. f***-em. Steers, queers, and one sociopath. That's Texas.
  18. You are so smart. Anne's is open late? For those who don't live around Boston, Anne's is THE place to get burritos.
  19. Sack -up young dude. There are about 50 more games of torture to go.
  20. No no, Coco. It's a conjugation. What it means, I have no idea.
