  1.:lol: You walked into that one Gom.
  2. Yup. You were right about Pettitte leaving in six. Of course, the Sox left in the second.
  3. "f*** MY TITS!" This is just ugly.
  4. This is the second time today that you've started a duplicate thread. Please take the time to see if an existing thread would be suitable for your post first.
  5. Oh. I was talking about actually having an impact on making the playoffs.
  6. We need some Pasta Mojo!
  7. While this a rational assessment of the situation, I see neither player making a significant contribution this year. Wake has nerve damage, as you have explained, and will likely not return to productive form (my opinion). As for Dice, if he comes back in September he may get 3-4 starts. Does anyone see him closing the deal for the Sox at that point? I don't.
  8. Yes, I believe that I did. And I got an objective and concise response.
  9. So Jacko, how does Pettitt's stuff look tonight?
  10. Ortiz is an OBP machine!
  11. Tito will wait untill its an 8 run deficit before he will do anything. I'd bring Bowden in RIGHT NOW.
  12. A new Genre of sucktitude.
  13. Sox interested in Billy Wagner Permalink|Comments (0) Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff August 21, 2009 05:09 PM According to a Major League source, the Red Sox would like to work out a trade for Mets reliever Billy Wagner, who was placed on waivers Wednesday, the day before he made his first appearance in nearly a year after undergoing Tommy John surgery. The Red Sox have been monitoring the 38-year-old lefthander, according to the source, and scouted him last night during the Mets' 3-2 loss to the Braves. In his first appearance since last September, Wagner pitched one perfect inning, striking out two. According to one report he was hitting 96 miles per hour on the radar gun. SI.com's Jon Heyman reported this afternoon that one team put in a claim on Wagner, and Florida radio station WFTL 640 reported that the team was the Red Sox. While this has not been confirmed, a Major League source told the Globe that the Red Sox do hope to acquire Wagner if they are the team that is awarded the waiver claim. Wagner, who has a 2.40 ERA and 385 saves in 15 seasons in the majors, had a 2.30 ERA in 45 appearances for the Mets last season before undergoing elbow ligament replacement surgery. Wagner is due a little less than $3 million this season, with an $8 million club option for 2010. He has a no-trade clause in his contract, but has indicated he would be willing to waive it to go to a contender.
  14. Cabrera down, Bowden up. Anderson down, Baldelli activated. As per BDC.
  15. Dipre started the GT last night and the Sox won. Hence, he continues to start the GT until the Sox loose.
  16. So who is the second catcher? Another roster move will need to be made.
  17. Sox recall Bowden Permalink|Comments (0) Posted by Chad Finn, Globe Staff August 21, 2009 02:49 PM The Red Sox have recalled righthanded pitcher Michael Bowden from Triple A Pawtucket, a team source confirmed to the Globe's Nick Cafardo this afternoon. It is uncertain at this time what the corresponding roster move might be, though there is speculation that catcher Jason Varitek (neck) might be placed on the disabled list.
  18. I'm calm. I enjoyed the game and the win.
  19. By the way, I was glad to see Drew have a big night. Hopefully he will play against NY. And, I was kidding about Gonzo. Clearly the best defensive shortstop to have played for the Sox since Louis Aparicio.
  20. Baiting new members just turns me off.
