  1. You ignore his obvious value. He is a good role model for male stat geeks. They get fashion examples from him. Also he is helping the market for pocket protectors and first aid tape. Give the guy some credit.
  2. I agree except that I believe that those two things can be taught.
  3. Thunder wick dipping mojo is in effect.
  4. I have had two main concerns about Pom since the Sox traded for him. He throws too many pitches early in the game and can't seem to go more than 6 innings. This is still a concern but he does put the team in the position to win more often than not. He has never started 30 games or thrown 200 innings. Tonight that should change. I was skeptical of him when the trade was made but now I am satisfied that he was a smart get. And with his injury Espinoza is another year away from getting to the bigs ( if ever ).
  5. Yet another strong career move.
  6. The winning run was scored with two out in the 6th with E Rod on the mound. If he had been replaced by Price to start the 6th that run may not have happened. Or Price may have gotten pounded. Overall, giving E Rod the hook after the 5th would have been a good call. He looked tired and was not finishing all his pitches.
  7. No no no. It's "Wicked pissah".
  8. IFIRC the Giants are liable for a prorated portion of the vet minimum for the season while the Sox continue to pay the balance of the $19 or so mil. I could be wrong because I don't give two s*** about Fatboy.
  9. Lol. Remind me to tell you my Jordan's story.
  10. Is it too late to call up Brentz? I know DD has said that he won't do it this year but the Sox bats are beat up.
  11. Yet there was a Pete Abe photo taken at the Trop Saturday of Nunez taking fielding practice at 3rd base. We will know more when he hits the field to play.
  12. "Stanley I want to go to Miami".
  13. Good point Bell. I have been pondering this idea for a couple of weeks. Are we sure that if the Sox drop Hanley that the option does not kick in? If it doesn't I say boot his ass out.
  14. Yes. Not making outs.
  15. Yes, of course. f*** the Yankees.
  16. One of the NESN guys said last night that in games that the Sox score 3 or more runs that Pocello's starts he is 10 and 0. That is kind of shocking.
  17. The game is still about not making outs.
  18. Hmm. I am still not convinced that the situation is dire. "Nobody pretends to know for sure" - this is simply not true and you know it. The game of team building has had some rule changes. Changes that effect all MLB teams, not just the Sox. With good management and strategy I see no reason why the Sox can not continue to compete. And it is not like the abundance of Sox prospects that graduated and others who were used in deals have yielded an abundance of championships. In other words, being a rich team does not guarantee a f***ing thing. My primary question remains unanswered.
  19. Dont worry. Everyone will remember that you said that you have changed your mind and that you want Farrell to get an extension at all costs.
  20. See? The old school guys like us can learn new ideas.
  21. The Yankees have some really good talent. No one should be surprised.
  22. Lol. In fairness to him that happens to all catchers sometimes. But I know what you are saying. Still, I always liked the kid.
  23. Well don't you worry yourself about it. We are told by the big brains here that home field advantage does not exist.
  24. To bad he could not see curve balls as well as he sees ghosts.
