He's an above average player who happens to be well overpaid. There are plenty of them out there.

Beltre blew a double play last night in the 9th inning by making a high throw. Pedroia got the error because it was catchable, but a good throw from Beltre and it would have been two outs.
Yes, in the .800s, his value is acceptable. He sucked in the .500s and .600s.
Unfortunately, he's not a good enough hitter any more to consistently pull balls through and over the shift.
The ump knew Beckett was hurt. That's why he allowed Delcarmen the extended warmup. I think it's ridiculous Girardi would protest a game over such a stupid thing.
