Folks, the object of the game is to score runs.
Working a walk with RISP - while certainly not a bad thing and certainly better than making an out - does not usually score a run, which, as mentioned above, is the object of the game. That walk leaves it up to someone else to try to drive the run in.
OTOH, getting a hit with RISP usually produces runs. But when your BA with RISP is .045 lower than it is otherwise, as Drew's has been the last three years, you are not carrying your weight. That's my opinion.
Now, it appears I'm not convincing the Drew supporters here. I don't have any other evidence to offer, nor is it needed. So let's just agree to disagree on this.
