  1. And Spain could have just as easily been down 1-0, but they save a penalty kick and score on one themselves. AND, it doesn't count because Spain was encroaching in the box, so Spain has to rekick the penalty shot. AND IT GETS SAVED THE 2ND TIME!!!
  2. And a penalty at the other end within the same minute.
  3. And Casillas makes the penalty kick save.
  4. If the Red Sox don't make the playoffs by one game, we have plenty more things to complain about than not having Wagner. The injuries being a good start.
  5. Would Marmol be willing to be a setup guy? I agree that Cincy could use another setup guy (as can every team), but I'm not sure if Marmol is that guy. In any event, I'd rather be a Reds fan in this trade than a Cubs fan.
  6. Does Cincinnati even need a closer? Isn't Cordero doing the job over there?
  7. And in a few minutes, Klose makes it 2-0, and Friedrich makes it 3-0.
  8. I think that what will doom Germany, if anything, is their yellow card total. They have 6 or so people coming into the game with yellow cards, and Mueller just got another so he'll miss the next match, while there are plenty of other key players who are close to missing the semi-final.
  9. Yeah, I saw their defence make a lot of mistakes vs. Mexico and their goalie just isn't very good. Combine that with the talent of all the "German" strikers (Klose, Ozil, Podolski) and you have trouble.
  10. I think that Germany has a better chance of beating Argentina. Argentina's defence and goalie are very overrated.
  11. Also, another win closer to #200 wins for Wakefield.
  12. I wonder what Joe West is thinking right about now.
  13. Would you be offended if I said that I didn't read any of this because I was staring at your avatar?
  14. I don't know about that. It looked like he could have gotten a head on the ball. Granted, it was probably instinctual to put his hands up to the ball (which technically would still negate it being a smart play), but it looks like the entire scenario could have been prevented had he used his head. It's not like Suarez had to reach out to get the ball, it was right at him.
  15. And Uruguay wins the game on penalty kicks, after saving a penalty kick to end the extra time.
  16. Holy crap. Ghana had many chances to put the game away in extra time, including multiple shots from within the penalty box, and in the last minute, Ghana beat the goalie on a few headers and Suarez (a defender) slapped the ball out of the goal with his hand, and was given an immediate red card, giving Ghana a penalty kick to win the game before the game went to penalty kicks. And Ghana (Gyan) ends up missing the penalty kick, which sends the game to penalty kicks and Gyan will have a shot at redemption. What a game.
  17. And Ghana scores just before the half. Uruguay started off as the better team, but Ghana turned up the heat about 30 minutes in.
  18. I could imagine being high as diamonds and loving that bubble graph.
  19. If every football game was like this one, then "soccer" might be considered a real sport in the USA.
  20. Me too. I want to see a new champion.
  21. I'd be afraid of Mickey being a Sox fan considering how bad of a person Walt Disney was.
  22. This game gets even more testy as Felipe Melo (the guy responsible for the own goal) gets a red card. The Netherlands players have been diving and flopping like Argentinian basketball players, and one of the Netherlands guys held the ball on the ground to keep Brazil from quickly resetting, and Felipe Melo cleated the guy (Sneijder I think) on the ground. Also, after a Netherlands player would dive, there would be a Brazilian player standing over him and yelling at him to get up. There's been pushing and shoving after a lot of collisions. And a Netherlands player just got booked for shoving a guy out of bounds.
  23. This Brazil Netherlands match has been amazing. Started off with a little pushing and shoving, Brazil had an early goal that was (rightly) disallowed due to offsides, and then Brazil pushed a real goal in shortly at the 10th minute. Netherlands got an own goal from Brazil to tie it, and a great corner kick to take the lead in the 67th miunte. The Netherlands is leading Brazil 2-1 with around 20 minutes remaining.
