  1. Dumb wouldn't be the word that I'd use, but like I said, your team selections have been pretty good thus far.
  2. Just be happy that I'm not ripping on you for your team, since it's been surprisingly good thus far.
  3. Robi, you're up, where art thou?
  4. Yeah, I looked at Jose Reyes as well, along with Troy Tulowitzki and Jimmy Rollins, but since all had injury concerns, I felt that I didn't want to use high draft picks on him, while other, higher in demand commodities were available. Plus, I figured that people would have forgotten about him by now (I thought the same about Matt Kemp), so I was going to nab him in a round or two if he were still available.
  5. Yes, it's Jimenez. Anyway, it's RobiforMVP's turn, followed by Jbay twice.
  6. Think about how many people that have made the All Star break that have been injured recently and have had to back out. I'd try to keep the Red Sox players as far away from the All Star game as possible at this rate. Especially considering our injury history thus far.
  7. I got a few picks for you guys. WhiskeyBreath wants Juston Upton Ytrb wants Tim Hudson And I select Roy Oswalt, making it Divinity's turn.
  8. You chose Papelbon first. Then Youker made his two picks, then it was your turn to choose Dunn. It's not a huge deal since they were both your picks, and they were close toether, it was just that those picks were in the reverse order. No big deal, I'm just a stickler for details. For example, Suns spelled "Ubaldo Jimenez" wrong in the clubhouse thread.
  9. Technically, the Adam Dunn pick and Jonathan Papelbon pick should be reversed. Granted, it doesn't matter since bsox drafted them both, it was just in a different order. Also, Flynnatic is up, I believe.
  10. No problem, so are you officially selecting Patterson?
  11. He's still available, and for the record, on the first page, Yrtb has a reasonably up to date recap of the draft, pick by pick. It's the very first post in the thread.
  12. Don't worry about it, I doubt that Youker would take Dunn with either of his next two picks (I think that Dunn is a fine pick, I just don't think that Youker would go that route) I wanted to bring up the defense thing because you weren't here at the beginning of the draft, so I don't want you to be behind the other teams for something that was out of your control. We'll count the Adam Dunn pick after Youker makes his pick, unless of course, Youker chooses Dunn as one of the picks, and you'll have to go to your backup.
  13. In all fairness, Youker picks twice before you, so you should hope he doesn't pick him (Dunn). Also, you don't need to tell anyone where you're positioning your picks. There is a midseason draft clubhouse (in the contest/prizes section) where you post that information. You can put anybody in any position that you want, however, it will effect the defense aspect of your team, which will influence your team's rating. For example, putting a player out of position will hurt the defense, unless it's something like moving a CF to LF/RF, or moving a SS/2B to 1B/3B. Edit: Now Youker is officially on the clock (twice)
  14. That would put Bsox up. In any event, I think we've seen the last picks until tomorrow morning.
  15. Flynnatic is up, and to think that we've made 20 picks today. (Thus far)
  16. I guess I'm going to hell.
  17. I'd imagine so, although it would be better to use someone who's numbers are reflected by that role. For example, who knows if Ubaldo Jimenez's numbers would be the same if he were a long reliever? Obviously, you wouldn't use him for that role, but a starter's numbers aren't necessarily transferrable to a relief role. And the reverse is true as well. Now, if the person you're thinking about has had experience at both, then he'll probably be judged with his experience as a reliever. That's just my opinion. I think that ytrb would have a better answer though.
  18. Ytrb isn't online, but he messaged me a little while ago saying that Mat Latos would be his ideal pick. I think we should go with that. That would mean that WhiskeyBreath is up.
  19. Good pick Divinity, I was thinking about him, but I wanted to save him because I thought he would drift for a few more rounds. Anyway, I'll go with Torii Hunter. Yrtb is up.
  20. Divinity is up, followed by myself.
  21. Suns, you're up again. On a side note, we're flying along with the picks today. I love it.
  22. Got it. Do you want me to put you down for him after JBay makes his picks? Or do you want to make the call?
