    It's because Larry Lucchino isn't there to lead the franchise anymore. Larry was there through the hiring of DD. Once things went off the rails in 2019, Henry decided he had enough with the spending and wanted to tighten up the purse strings. He went the TB route (Chaim) and wanted a SUSTAINABLE model where he could pinch a penny but still could stay in contention every year or be close enough to pump ticket sales (we already have their money, what are they gonna do). Unfortunately, this model took too long to develop. Fans ended up staying away. The CBO hired was too tentative and could do a good enough job at staying above .500. We'll see what direction Henry goes with for the next CBO.

    He's wanted to move Devers to 1b since 2017 or so.

    Devers is the same guy. He's just easy to pick on when things are going wrong.

    I'm not sure they really had prospects to deal in 2022 to make deadline deals. In 2023, they had a few guys they could have parted with that would have not impacted the future of the org immeasurably.

    I didn't think he was going to opt out anyway. He's missed significant amount of time during his current contract. He's just going to ride this out.

    If you go by errors and Fielding % (no DRS/OAA in Ortiz's day), he's twice was bad as 2023 Triston Casas and people want to make him the DH.

    It's both. Bloom was indecisive. Ownership has its own share of issues (letting Mookie go, overall direction of organization from year to year).

    Law has a hate boner for the Sox. MLB Pipeline just isn't very good in general.

    Troye has a 7.84 BB/9 in AA. He's Darwinzon Hernandez. Pass.

    That .180 SS, is a great fielder. The shaky defender is in LA right now.

    The comp picks go from 4th rounders to 2nd rounders plus additional draft money to spend that goes with it. That matters to me.
