    Just a 1 miler for me. Too f***ing hot down here and the smallest dog can't do much more than that. Plus, I had to get the kids ready for school and figure out what my plan was for posting garbage on this site today.

    I loved coaching my kids in little league. I was just stating a fact that all the leagues we were involved in locked the fields outside of practice and gametime. Kids aren't allowed to play on those fields without adult supervision which goes against the airplane test noted above.

    Plays decent defense and has lots of pop. I've enjoyed the Adam Duvall experience. Too bad he got injured.

    Hmmm, that doesn't sound right! I could have sworn that my favorite childhood player won the MVP in 1978. Huh! I know for sure it wasn't the Cobra Dave Parker.

There were 1.77 errors per game in 1970. That number gradually dropped to 1.71 in 1980, 1.51 in 1990, 1.42 in 2000, and 1.25 in 2010. Clearly though, that decline has accelerated in recent years, and MLB is on pace to post its lowest error rate in history this season. It's all bookkeeping that has no real impact on the action on the field. It is a rather significant shift in a short period of time though. 2019: 1.19 errors per game (between the two teams) 2020: 1.17 2021: 1.08 2022: 1.06 2023: 1.01

    I don't know where it came from, but I've read it elsewhere that official scorers are more likely to call more plays a hit and less errors (see: Harper's inside the park job that should have had an error called).
