  1. If Hall and Ells are getting on base, today could be a very good day.
  2. Kalish should never go back to Pawtucket. I'm a fan.
  3. It's nice to be back in MA and not have a job today.
  4. I had no problem with "Send Them In" Wendell Kim. I'd have him be the 3B coach before the other two numbnuts.
  5. His ceiling in Boston would be as a 4th outfielder. If you can get a solid reliever for him (wouldn't happen, but maybe you get someone on a day when they drank too much cough syrup) you do it without thinking twice.
  6. I'd be only interested if it was the 08 Iannetta. He can play a little 3b too, but I just don't think he's worth giving up much for. However, Lowrie is nothing more than a 25th man on a roster.
  7. I actually had a dream last night that Lackey was pitching with a 5 run lead. He ended up giving up 6 home runs in an inning (3 of which to people who had never hit one in the majors before). Apparently I'm already prepared for the worst. I think he'll be ok though.
  8. Dodger Stadium is the nicest I've been too. The only downside is the traffic leaving the parking lot.
  9. Boston desperately needs good baseball writers. Ugh.
  10. I stopped reading BDD a few years ago. Some of the posts seemed to be a tad on the racist side, so I figured that I had better things to do.
  11. tony allen, please go away
  12. His best season was 4 years ago. He's 30, with limited upside. Of all the people we could hope for, he's not really up there. He's a stop-gap more than anything else. And he's averaging a .263 obp and 26 gdp's per season in the AL! WTF??? (j/k)
  13. He seemed to have potential as a 4-5 starter a few years ago. Now he's just long relief or AAA fodder.
  14. Seriously, LaRoche? I just don't see it.
  15. Garza and Shields aren't really going to cause a drop in AGon production anyway. The D-bags, Dodgers, and Giants have really good pitchers as the previous posters have said. If he was able to lift the ball to left field at Fenway, his numbers would skyrocket.
  16. How many people on here actually remember watching Sha Na Na? If Boof is getting substantial run this year, we're in trouble...
  17. granderson's defense started sucking at the end of last year. if the yanks put him in lf, it could help a bit (considering the square footage he'd have to cover). overall, it's a good deal for the yankees, but i wouldn't have parted with ellsbury for him (age, $). Buchholz should only be traded if the sox are getting a sp in return.
  18. Felix Hernandez Andruw Jones The worry about rushing players is overrated. Maybe Hansen, WMP, and Meredith (who wasn't a huge prospect to begin with) were just never going to pan out anyway?
  19. who cares?
  20. As a fan, I'd love to see Pedro wear a Sox cap once more. However, I'd rather Harden as a 5. Bedard is ok, but I don't think he'll ever be the pitcher he once was. We already know what Harden brings to the table. He'll pitch lights out for a few games. He'll have trouble pitching past the 5th innning in others. He'll need a few weeks off during the season. I'm ok with that for a number 5. As for Reyes, it's probably nothing but a pipe dream. SS has been a mess for us since 04 and I don't see that changing anytime soon. With Epstein, it just feels like an afterthought (not considering his unforgivable mancrush on Lugo).
  21. the only good thing about being sick today is that i'm at home watching this game. what can we expect out of marquis daniels and shelden williams?
