Fred, thanks for reading. That's basically how I feel. CC is at fault. BV is at fault. BV seems to just speak off the cuff sometimes. I feel this could cause huge problems down the road. For now, it's not a major issue, he just needs to have a bit more tact. He should save this tactic as a last resort, imo. Part of being a manager is dealing with the players for 8 months out of the year. It's as important as on field decisions. Just worried his schtick will wear out the players over 162 games.

No, BV needs to be more media savy in this market. This was an instance where he should have known better. He needs to learn how to prevent his players from becoming stories in the paper. I think he's just too full of himself to understand this.

If he needs to call out in the media as a last resort, fine. Why do it as your first interaction with a player? It's just getting off on the wrong foot. "From time to time" is fine with me. It just seems unwarranted in this instance. If Tito had ripped his team on September 15th, it would have been within his right to do so. How is my point of view "unproven conjecture?" it's an opinion. One that is no less factual than yours.

Shouldn't "impact" mean above average, not average? If he's average, he'll have zero impact. If he's below average, he'll have a negative impact (positive impact if above, etc.).

I don't get why writers get sand in their vaginas over Truck Day. I like truck day. I'd never go, but it's nice to see it on the news as it helps me forget about crappy winter weather for a minute or two. How soon til pitchers and catchers?

This message board is largely ambivalent to CC. Talk radio is ambivalent to CC. I'm just not seeing where you are getting "most fans" from. Most fans are mad at Beckett/Lackey and could care less about CC.

With Garza, it's not about the money. They've said that the organizations with the pitching prospects they want in return are the Yanks and Jays. Fact is, the Sox just don't match up, unfortunately.

You don't get it. If they don't outright say Tek and Wake aren't coming back, clearly the FO wants them here featured in prominent roles. Right? I mean it's their duty to tell us fans everything at all times. So if they didn't want them back they would have stormed onto 98.5 to let everyone know. Clearly. In fact, I bet Ben the Boob will sign them to long term deals and is probably consulting with FrancoMa as we speak!
