    Older players that signed elsewhere: Damon Pedro Lowe Manny (forced his way out of town) Youk The only people who are missed are short term rentals like Beltre and VMart. This team typically knows when to cut bait with a player.

    Rich Porcello's grandfather was Sam Dente. The epitome of journeyman. He did get an MVP vote one year for some unknown reason. I'm sure one of the silverbacks in here may remember him.

    I would have signed Lester last offseason. Shields is ok for 3 years, but he wants more. I'd offer 3/70 and move on if he doesn't take it. I would have Cecchini at 3b. Outfield would be SV/Mookie/Castillo.

    I don't agree with FO 100%. Just in this offseason, I think the Ramirez and Pablo signings are dumb and they need to trade for a Jordan Zimmerman type.

    And complaing about their 12th - 15th pitcher is a little unnecessary. You can't say "every player doesn't need to be an all star" in one post, then complain about the 25th guy on the roster in the next.

    I don't like Mujica as a backup plan. My guess is they could insert one of their live arms in the minors to be closer for a little bit if they needed to.

    You are paying big bucks for HanRam, Papi, Pedroia and Panda. Those 4 probably make more than almost ever starting staff in MLB.
