    Bryce Brentz since May 23: RBI: 35 (1st in MLB/MiLB) OPS: 1.196 (2nd in MLB/MiLB) SLG: .748 (3rd in MLB/MiLB) HR: 13 (t-3rd in MLB/MiLB) I thought he did ok last year when he was up. Was surprised no other team went after him this offseason.

    Yes, he did. Too bad he ran into the injury bug again. Unfortunately, health is a huge concern for him going forward.

    I think that's why they have thrown so many different utility guys into the mix. Just need to find one that can stick for a while. Marrero just doesn't have the hit tool to stick around. Maybe Lin can? Who knows?

    What I've read isn't that he's struggling with offspeed stuff, just that he's waiting on fastballs. Again, this is all hearsay and may not be reflective of the reasons the Sox are holding him back. He's only 20 and in AA, it's not unheard of that the guy would stay in the minors a little longer just because.

    If Price and ERod didn't have injury concerns, I'd be all in. I don't think they thought Price was going to out for half the season. Also, whenever a Chris Sale is on the market, you trade for him no matter what.

    Yes, I want Devers promoted now. If they want to bring someone else in for a few months, they should find a cheap rental, not someone who would cost Sam Travis. Travis could be our starting 1B for years to come. I don't see a reason to move him for a rental. I don't believe this team is good enough to win a WS this year, so there's no reason for me to move big time prospects.

    Sam Travis for 3 months of Moustakas? Nah. I'm good. If they really want him, they should just wait until the offseason and grab him in FA.

    That's not the message at all. The message is that they value Devers' growth more than Marerro or Lin. That they feel they want to hold onto Devers until he is completely ready. For Marerro and Lin, they are just seen as fungible assets that you can throw where ever and use up until they are done.

    KC is only 2.5 games back. They are completely in contention and Duffy will be back around the AS Game. It'd be dumb for them to give up on the season already.

    JH opposed the CC signing but still signed off on it. Maybe he should fire himself? The bad contracts on the team now are due to Ben and he was pushed out. Seems like he already figured out that mistakes can affect employment?

    It's smart business. I don't have a problem with it. I think they can afford all the B's in the next few years if they want to and that a "cliff" does not exist.

    The budget isn't limitless, but it's big enough that we shouldn't be clutching at our pearls worrying about a cliff.

    And Lin is starting at 3B tonight. Organization sees him as a super sub with plus defense at most positions (2, 3B, SS, OF).
