  1. Do we have to do this s*** again?
  2. Red Sox for sure. 2018 will be a 3peat for the AL East. Not sure the other good teams in the division have a shot (Jays, O's, Rays).
  3. If there is a poster who loves Devers more than me, I haven't met them yet.
  4. Then you should be fine with trading Pedey.
  5. Did he end up playing at the minimum for the Cards? I remember the talk was that he was willing to sit out that season if he was still in BOS or at least pout over it. His 2015 numbers were really good.
  6. I'll take Blake over Sandy too FTR. I just think Lucroy WAS a legit at one point. He isn't anymore. If he was still good, teams would have been all over him. Once his defense cratered, every GM was scared off. He had no QO attached to him. If he was still good, he would have been signed in November.
  7. @chadjennings22 Alex Cora acknowledges, for right now, the Red Sox rotation is Sale, Price, Porcello, Johnson and Velazquez. Could change if Wright and/or Pomeranz is ready to open the season. Wright faces hitters Wednesday.
  8. And one of those years was at the major league minimum, right?
  9. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/jonathan-lucroy-and-the-new-decline/ His defense has been on the decline since 2013. It's a certainty that it will continue on that path in 2018.
  10. Ok. Are we betting solely on defense? What metrics?
  11. He's gotten worse every year. He's not going to get back to what he once was.
  12. https://www.theringer.com/2017/5/23/16045944/jonathan-lucroy-texas-rangers-pitch-framing-3bfa2f11ae4a "Maybe Lucroy’s issues are purely mechanical or mental, the product of bad habits or frustration about his slow start at the plate. But it’s probable that age and injuries have taken their toll. Lucroy suffered a fractured finger in 2011; a fractured hand in 2012; hamstring soreness in 2014 and 2015; a fractured toe in early 2015; and a concussion in late 2015. Maybe that accumulated wear and tear has made him less low, less mobile, and less steady behind the plate. The bad news for Lucroy — and, for the rest of this season, the Rangers — is that large changes in framing performance tend to be sticky; it’s rare for a catcher to suffer a significant decline as a receiver and then bounce all the way back. In other words, the elite Lucroy, and even the average Lucroy, may be gone for good. " The good defensive Lucroy is history pal.
  13. He's only hit 20+ HRs once. He's getting older. He sandwiched that good year with two bad offensive ones. https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/sortable/index.php?cid=1899569 LUCROY WAS 110 OUT 110 IN FRAMING PITCHES IN 2017 WITH AN UNSIGHTLY -16.5. HE IS 109 OUT OF 110 IN FIELDING RUNS ABOVE AVERAGE. Vazquez is top 10, Sandy is top 25.
  14. Vazquez had a higher dWAR last year. Sandy had the same dWAR as Lucroy.
  15. Vazquez had a higher dWAR last year.
  16. Lucroy was a negative oWAR guy 2 of the last 3 years. Catchers don't last forever.
  17. @RedSox Two at-bats, two homers @sandyleon41 launches his second homer of the game and we are tied once more in the fourth, 3-3.
  18. Sandoval's is worse than Price's.
  19. "Ben stacked the roster in 2013 to win the WS and built a great farm all on his own. It was ownership that didn't re-sign Lester, traded Lackey, signed Panda, signed Hanley, moved Xander to 3b for Drew, signed Rusney and extended Porcello."
  20. Lucroy isn't that good.
  21. I'm not too concerned about the hitting at the moment. There are always a few guys that unexpectedly have good seasons or are called up from the minors. Last year, I had a lot of guys like Adam Jones who struggled at the start of the season and I probably kept them on my roster too long. I'll probably burn through more hitters this year. The key for fantasy baseball is just staying on top of your roster for the whole year. I get most of my talent infusion through FA's rather than trades.
  22. It also set the stage to completely clean house.
  23. http://m.mlb.com/player/595234/justin-haley Not a chance.
  24. http://m.mlb.com/player/606019/jesus-quiroz?year=2018&stats=career-r-hitting-minors I guess we don't have to worry about the Quiroz buzz anymore?
  25. Maybe they think he has a better chance of sticking at RP and maybe can go multiple innings when he needs to?
