  1. It was bad enough that I believe even the broadcasters talked about him throwing to the wrong bag. He definitely is a guy that needs to be coached up on the finer points of the game.
  2. You should have finished the job!
  3. Nope. I don't believe it matters in the least.
  4. Machado is one of the best players in the game whose contract runs out at the end of the year. Swihart is the 25th man on a roster only because he's out of option years. Not the same at all.
  5. Guys in AAA that can help: Poyner (taxi squad), Walden (taxi squad), Scott, Workman and Martin. Maybe they could even catch lightning in a bottle with Buttrey?
  6. Relief help doesn't typically cost a 2 win player.
  7. And he's a generally unfriendly person in real life.
  8. I don't see how you can attribute that solely to JBJ being on the bench.
  9. He cut his hair, that's a con now. That baserunning is rough. He had trouble for a while throwing to the correct bag or cutoff man. I haven't noticed that recently tho.
  10. He's not like Machado in any manner.
  11. There were some judgement calls in that list. Fortunately, some of the good names had several uni numbers. I don't know what it is about Stan Papi. Just rolls off the tongue better than Rothrock.
  12. You're being too kind. He had a miserable OPS of 538 last year in AAA. The only reason he's on the team is because he is out of options. He's not deserving of a MLB roster spot right now.
  13. He was a starting C all last year in Pawtucket. The results were fairly poor. I think the Sox saw the writing on the wall that his development at C was just not working out and they wanted to move on.
  14. Did 2013 look like a championship team on May 17th? I don't remember people thinking that way.
  15. I'm not sure the runs are due to JBJ sitting. How many extra balls would he have gotten to? 2? 3 at best? I don't it's even that many.
  16. Sounds more like the telephone game to me. Not sure Smith was blaming anyone for his injury. Just stating why he got injured.
  17. Beni can't play RF in Fenway. Not sure he could reach 2b with a throw from the corner in RF. His arm is pretty terrible.
  18. Why? Because he signed a three year extension in March.
  19. Those who don’t remember May are doomed to repeat it.
  20. Pretty much.
  21. Beni or Devers. Sox don’t have the prospects to get Machado. O’s will hold out for a better deal.
  22. Well, he went 2 for 4 tonight so will probably do that the rest of the way. .386/.490/.625 OPS of 1.115. What better way to judge someone than by the most recent SSS!
  23. So you’ve seen it even though he hasn’t had the reps to show it?
  24. Cora really pulled out a great win. Really got those batters to hit that ball good! Way to go Alex! Good game plan! He knew the pitchers wouldn’t have their “A game” so he dialed up the offense. Brilliant!
  25. Sox won today. Yanks didn’t. Right now, Sox are playing better.
