  1. @craigcalcaterra "Bah! Gawd! That's . . . that's Jacoby Ellsbury's music!!!"
  2. I like to play fast and loose with the rules.
  3. @mlbtraderumors Yankees Place Giancarlo Stanton On Injured List
  4. I don't think he's trying to make that argument. He's just still got sand in his underpants over the Jeter Sucks ARod Swallows shirts.
  5. It took the Sox selling the team to Henry for this team to really become competitive year in and year out. Ownership was god awful before then.
  6. He's basically a 2002 Red Sox fan. Sad!
  7. And Sox fans have to hear over and over again about championships that happened before color tv was invented. Who cares?
  8. I didn't buy into the Evil Empire nonsense back then, so I don't think it impacts my viewpoint as a fan. Win by any means necessary.
  9. Who gives a s*** how they were viewed? They had a pretty great run in the 90's - 00's. What fan base would say no to that? I'll be the evil empire every day if it means that many titles. s***, most other fans hate Boston anyway.
  10. I have no idea about the CBA stuff but I have definitely wondered the same exact thing. Interesting that the new contract will be negotiated in 2020, which just so happened to coincide with the "cliff."
  11. His dipshittedness will really pay dividends in the playoffs, but the regular season will breeze by for the Yanks. I'm not really sure what they saw in Boone in the first place. He never impressed me in the booth. He didn't seem like one of those "future coaches" in his playing days. Did Cash pick him or someone else?
  12. I didn't say "everyone." I said "everyone they want." I think that means they can sign all of the core (the B's, Sale, Devers) if they want to and will find savings elsewhere (Porcello, Moreland, Nunez, etc.) by replacing them with cheaper options (Chavis, Dalbec, Hernandez, Lin, FA's, etc.). Maybe Porcello becomes a FA this offseason and a market doesn't really develop (hesitant about a 31 year old with 2,000 innings on his arm) and he comes back cheaply?
  13. I think they are just still tuning up. If you remember, Cora held them back this ST because of all the extra innings last postseason. They'll be back to normal sooner than later.
  14. I think he sees that he has too many guys in their prime to reset now. I think he'll reset eventually, but not for another 4-5 years.
  15. You gonna fix your sig or no?
  16. I'm not sure he'd get higher AAV on the open market. More likely he just stays here and gets extra years. They have a bigger need for him than most other franchises.
  17. It's still only April 1. These two teams are too talented to be held down by poor managerial decisions and small sample sizes. I'm sure the standings will be flipped by Memorial Day.
  18. Interesting that Northern Star still hasn't changed his signature or even contributed to this discussion. Seems like he was just complaining for the sake of complaining.
  19. But they didn't become billionaires by spending money!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. It's almost like I've been saying all along that they can afford anyone that they want to keep. Huh? Go figure.
  21. You touted the cliff for so long and you're already walking it back in 2019? This is the opposite of commitment.
  22. Only fair, right?
  23. But the bullpen.........
  24. Feel free to take out your joeycaps one now.
