60 games plus another 12 years that they should have signed him for. What's the point in 5 years of Downs and Wong if we don't know if they'll even get to MLB? Budget space??? You were saying that the budget was already restricted even after getting rid of Betts!

Losing Betts was a disaster. Verdugo is a very good player. Betts is a HOF player.

@RedSox Since the beginning of 2019, Rafael Devers leads MLB with 61 go-ahead or game-tying RBI.

There was no limited spending budget this offseason. They already reset last year.

You think it's Trout's fault? Not Pujols? Not Upton? Trout is actually worth his contract. The team has just been constructed poorly around him and their system has always kinda been trash. They have always surrounded Trout with garbage contracts: Pujols, Upton, Vernon Wells, Josh Hamilton, CJ Wilson.

I know MiLB hasn't really ramped up, that's why I mentioned optioning in May in my first post.

Verdugo is a good player, but he's a downgrade from Betts. If Downs or Wong doesn't pan out, it's not a good trade IMO.

I said that and then checked that they have options. Duh. Would Puello look any worse than Franchy or Hunter right now? Does a healthy Danny Santana take one of their spots?

Losing Betts is a disaster IMO, but that wasn't Bloom's call.

I think having Renfroe hit against RHP is setting him up to fail. He just can't hit RHP. Cordero looks lost right now, but I'd still take him over Renfroe against RHP. I think there's a chance Cordero gets optioned in May if he doesn't turn it around. I'm not pleased with what the plan was for the corner OF. My guess it's just a stop gap before they bring up Duran midseason. Also, Cordero and Renfroe are cheap enough that you could waive them if it doesn't get any better. s***, both Franchy and Renfroe still have options.
