The f***? Pitches are getting called by Varitek and Tito from the dugout. Not only are you contradicting yourself, but you're way overstating the importance of a catcher's defensive skill. A good pitcher will be a bit better with a great catcher, and a sucky pitcher will suck a little more with a bad catcher, but it's not like he's gonna make a one point difference in ERA.

Again, the stuff is there. Whoever says that changeup is not f***ing filthy is delusional. Even worse, he makes righties look like A hitter on it, and that's saying a lot. Not bad for a third pitch.

That's exactly the point. Imagine where this team would be if MDC wasn't effective? A lot of games can be lost in the 6th or 7h innings. And let me tell you one thing, 4 inning Joba could return at any given moment, and that would s*** on their bullpen.

I strongly disagree, not because of his career trends, but because right now the changeup is the pitch besides the fastball he can throw for strikes. Thus, as of right now, his out pitch is the changeup.

Holliday will re-up with the Cardinals. They have money to spend, and they will go all out to sign Holliday not only because they need him, but because they need to persuade Pujols to stay in St. Louis.
