  1. J-Lo can't be counted on for this. Jon Lester * #31 LHP * (9-7) 3.71 ERA 176 SO VS. Brett Cecil * #27 LHP * (5-1) 4.35 ERA 54 SO WIN! Let's see this face tonight: http://cache.boston.com/images/bostondirtdogs//Headline_Archives/BDD_6.27_JL_ap.jpg
  2. If J-Lo doesn't make it by 6:15, i'll make it.
  3. I'll argue this. Looking through Ortiz's hit charts for Fenway park from '06-'09 you can easily verify the fact that Papi's use of the opposite field is minimal this year, while in his best seasons ('06 and '07), a considerable number of his hits went to the opposite way beating the shift. And we're not just talking singles, but also a lot of doubles and a couple homers per seasons. So, in essence, his inability to use the whole field may not have affected his power numbers a lot, but it has greatly affected his batting average and ability to get on base. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/stats/individual_player_hitting_chart.jsp?c_id=bos&playerID=120074&statType=1
  4. To find a groove, Beckett must throw the curve to the lower part of the plate with break. Thigh-high hangers clearly set back the finding of grooves.
  5. I hadn't noticed he's been that unlucky. But still, sometimes it looks as though he's pressing at the plate. His BB/PA was significantly lower when he was slumping at the beginning of the year than when he started heating up against the Yanks.
  6. How do we even know what Papi he is? At times this season, he's looked like Jorge Piedra, then goes on a power binge that resembles Jim Thome in his prime. Jesus f***ing Christ.
  7. I do. Hard to remember with all the criticism though.
  8. Athlete's institute.
  9. No gender verification needed. That is a man. Carry on.
  10. That's why half of the Sox fanbse hates his guts. amirite?
  11. With the way the kid's pitching right now, if he gets that arm slot under control from the stretch, he's gonna be a force.
  12. Then went to the f***ing Yankees?
  13. Then he fails at life. Hard.
  14. When speaking of a douche, this is the man you should be referring to. You know, pushing a 67-year-old traveling secretary should worse by any standard than charging another ballplayer. Just sayin'.
  15. He's INTENZEEEEE. Gotta take the good with the bad about it. Always gives 120% on the field, but always 120% too emotional. The Minh reference is a bit extravagant though, don't you think? I didn't know he cried in the dugout after getting pwn3d in a political debate.
  16. Of course he is. I'm sure you'd love being a walking target, sport.
  17. If you get hit by off-speed you never deem it intentional. So take your break, champ.
  18. And that's why Youk flips the f*** out.
