In Gom's defense, hindsight arguments are pretty damn stupid, specially when they're made regarding the Mets, we're talking about a franchise that, if they launched a frozen yogurt brand, half the world would become lactose intolerant, and if they launched a store of silver artifacts, a month later, a study would discover silver to be the cause for Cancer. In Jacko's defense, Gom's "I watch the gamezzzzzz sources" are wrong as usual, any transaction with the Twins needed The Phuture. I'd say these two are pretty even in the stupidity department, with a slight edge to Jacko and his hindsight Cashman ballwashing.

If you want to release a player and eat his contract, you can do it even if it means irrevocable waivers, because handing him to a team that wants him is the same as eating the contract and letting someone else sign him..

It happens. Look at Kaz Matsui, for instance, he's been a serviceable ballplayer, but he came here with GG, 30-HR, 100 RBI SS hype, even displacing Jose Reyes from SS. Look how that turned out.
