    Marginal pitchers have a career 135 ERA+ now? Delcarmen is about half a step removed from being an elite reliever, and he's about as durable a workhorse as they come. "Marginal" my foot.

    As usual when as Sox player is involved, Jacko is busy making things sound worse than they are. Every kind of player has the occasional string of bad outings, and a starting pitcher is no exception. I'd be more alarmed if the stuff was good and he was still being tattooed. I'm not saying there's no problem here, what I am saying is that it's way too soon to panic, or even to not expect the old Beckett the nex time out.

    As much as I hate the guy, Jorge Posada is one of the better catchers in the league and I would have loved to have had him in a Red Sox uniform all these years.

    Felix Hernandez is not definitely available. I'd rather talk about FA's than pipedream trades.

    Not an unreasonable position. Which of Penny, Wakefield, Daisuke, Tazawa Bowden and Buchholz are you going to stack against Chamberlain and Pettitte? Buchholz against Chamberlain, maybe, but who takes on Pettitte with daisuke hurt and probably off his form? We have t he edge at the top of the rotation however much Gom doesn't like it, but the Yankees do have more quality SP's on their roster right now.

    Escobar is interesting, I'd like Theo to look into it myself, but my vote is to spend a little more money and go for Erik Bedard. Beclett Lester Bedard Matsuzaka Buchholz. Nasty. And we have the depth to deal with it if Bedard can't stay healthy.

    5 shutout innings from the rook. Not the best pitching job I've ever seen, but against this lineup I'll more than take it. 85 pitches. I'm thinking we get 5 and a fraction.

    Was hoping he'd finish the 5th before pitch number 80. He's young, so his pitch count ceiling will be low. We could use to get this kid through 6 but first he has to get this out.
