  1. He's pretty strikeout prone after all. I guess the theory is that a guy who strikes out a lot it doesn't take much better pitching than he's facing to shut him down completely.
  2. Not much to really say about Wagner until he pitches for us. I'm curious how Tito will use him. I think a limited, situational role would probably be best. He'd be useful turning around NYY's 4 switch hitters though, and make them pull the ball to left rather than letting them lift one into the flue draw in right. Switches tend to pull from both sides of the plate so not giviing them easy access to the right field wind tunnel is worth the effort. He might be especially useful turning Teixeira around.
  3. I have to admit it, my post was slightly antagonistic. If only because I felt that ORS' involvement in this thread was about two steps removed from trolling because he wasn't really showing any effort to add anything to the discussion but critcism and sarcasm. It's not that often that CrespoBlows is less antagonistic and more helpful to an off the wall trade suggestion than someone else, but he had ORS beat pretty clean here. (for which I thank CB, BTW -- he's really done a great job of playing nice since the stronger enforcement). Yeah, I need to get out of this conversation. I'm done.
  4. Just because it doesn't happen often doesn't mean it doesn't happen, I guess.
  5. They haven't seen him in awhile and it shows.
  6. Fair enough I suppose.

  8. but if there's nothing I can do to keep the guy from being rude, offensive and insulting every time he responds to my posts, there's a point where it stops being worth it to try. if he's gonna be a jerk no matter what I do I might as well get my licks in, know what I mean?
  9. Anyone else that's an ITPHR
  10. can't even cover first? that's not good. This guy might need to be on the pen.
  11. Very slow on his feet. Get Penny warming.
  12. That's a pretty good start.
  13. I wonder if facing a tough righty has anything to do with it.
  14. Lowell isn't going to be able to play every game, especially if they refuse to make the DH spot available for him.
  15. I think by October he'll be fully back to the old A-Rod. In fact, I'm counting on it.
  16. .905 OPS. 22 HR's despite missing extended time. 8 steals to 1 caught stealing. Wut?
  17. Sounds like a guy saying a lot of "the right things" to me. In other words, catch phrases being distributed in lieu of anything seriously intended to convey meaning.
  18. No no, I got that, I was just putting the thoughts together.
  19. Now THAT would be an interesting trade. Papelbon as part of a Beltran deal. Pretty sure the Mets don't go for it though. The last thing a cash-strapped team needs is expensive relief pitching.
  20. Beltran for Ellsbury (among other players) or Beltran for Bard (among other players?) Assume that the "other players" are constant.
