  1. He might let Lester go 120, but there really isn't a need to do so and he might not decide to risk his #2 starter's arm on a meaningless ninth. Is anyone warming?.
  2. Nah I stole it. Borrow away.
  3. He's at 105. Anything over 100 pitches usually means a guy is done, especially if he's through 7. But there's a chance we could see him if Tito decides to let him throw 120.
  4. Lester's all growed up. I'd send him out there for the complete game.
  5. Awesome. What an outing for Lester.
  6. 7 2/3 so far for Lester. Wow.
  7. Anything wrong with that?
  8. lol @ Jays
  9. Have a night, JD. 3 for 3 with 2 HR
  10. Another quick inning for Jon. He might go 7 after all.
  11. That'll do, David. An out for a run is almost always a good trade.
  12. I guess that's fair. If he's really more than that having a bench role should allow him a chance to prove it.
  13. So Lester's bounced back well.
  14. http://www.soxprospects.com/players/jimenez-jorge.htm http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Jorge%20Jimenez&pos=3B&sid=t546&t=p_pbp&pid=501892 Jimenez is the closest thing we have to a replacement level 3B in the minors right now. He's a college bat so he's a little older (24 years old and in AA) and he's reportedly not much defensively. But he's hitting the ball-- his contact rates are good, his average is consistently high, he's a hard strikeout, he's taking an adequate number of walks, and his power is improving in his age 24 season, which is pretty much when you'd expect that part of a player's power game to evolve. Good OBP, good AVG, good SLG, not much not to like there. Probably a "Dojji Type" in the end, but with the paucity of good third basemen around the league, Jimenez intrigues me as a guy who is doing the right things to start breaking out in earnest at some point. And in some ways he reminds me of a poor man's Kevin Youkilis. With, of course, many fewer walks (but a respectable k/bb ratio in his own right of about 1:1.2). I'm just curious what someone who's seen him in action more than I have can tell me whether he has the tools to go with his numbers and whether this guy has a chance of fighting his way onto the roster.
  15. DROOOOOOO!!!!
  16. Lowell takes the cookie RBI.
  17. What the balk???? Someone tell me what just happened.
  18. Ortiz: .755 OPS Kotchman .751 OPS such a downgrade. The horror.
  19. Dude that's even worse.
  20. he still has that thing on his shoulder commonly referred to as an "arm." he should be the starter.
  21. Something tells me there's a somewhat less scientific approach that might out the truth.
  22. The only way Jeter could legitimately show this much improvement is if he'd been slack on the workouts in the years prior. So either he was lazy before this year or he's on something IMHO.
  23. Forgot the picture. http://l.yimg.com/a/i/ww/news/2009/08/19/gender-pd.jpg
