  1. “I get the defensive strategies. I do. I am 100 percent not against that… But I think at some point, you have to fix the game a little bit…” Gallo said. “I don’t understand how I’m supposed to hit a double or triple when I have six guys standing in the outfield.” I just had to look it up and he apparently blamed a lot of his Yankees struggles on the shift lol
  2. Didn’t Gallo blame the shift for his low batting average every year?
  3. Christian Arroyo is having a nice game Good start by Crawford Hopefully bullpen can hold this
  4. I don't see it happening either. I think someone will trade for him though. I can't imagine his value his high with his MLB track record and Sox seem to view him as an afterthought.
  5. He does deserve credit for the pitching mess he has been handed this year. Like I said the only criticisms of him were the loyalty to Kike at SS, who clearly isn't good there and for some reason he seemed to have a weird loyalty to putting Brasier into high leverage situations, when he's been very bad for a few years now. Overall, I don't really blame him for any of the pitching moves. He didn't sign any of these bad relief pitchers and he can't pitch the same 2-3 guys every day and has to manage the pitching for the long run. He isn't a problem at all and he's done a fine job, but you can still occasionally criticize someone with a move that is questionable and isn't working out.
  6. His numbers in the minors right now are ridiculous. I imagine someone takes a shot on him. He could have finally figured it out, he could be an AAAA player. Jury is definitely still out. He is about to turn 28, so hes getting close to make or break for his career.
  7. I don't even mention Cora most the times in game threads. If anything the one I'm usually criticizing is the umpires or the plethora of s***** pitchers we bring out each night. This is the most I've talked about Cora all season. The only thing I even remember mentioning recently was that he said Reyes would be starting at SS more over Kike and I praised him for that. I'm way more likely to criticize a player than I am the manager... You can literally look at my post history.
  8. It wouldn't shock me if Dalbec did get traded and ended up figuring it out with another team. Sometimes player just need a change of scenery.
  9. I wasn't old enough to comprehend what was really happening at the time, but yes, I've heard he was awful.
  10. I'm not saying he's bad or calling for his head. But people on here are either slurping him for every last thing he does or calling for his head. He isn't responsible for some of the things that happened like Kluber being horrible or for the Red Sox signing and starting a racist homophobe and basically punting a game. But I also think its fair to question some things - like the extremely long leash Kike got at SS with his overall bad play and for his tendency to trust Ryan Brasier a bit too much. For example, he let him attempt to save two games, why? . I also question why Ryan Brasier was even on the roster, but that's a different topic.
  11. I don't see a reason to mess with Casas. There isn't realistically a better option than him and they should let him figure it out at the MLB level. Jerking him around from the minors to majors and giving who? Dalbec more AB? Just doesn't make much sense. Casas has a solid approach and has been improving each month. They clearly believe in him and I don't think he's given them a reason to give up on him.
  12. Sure, but managerial wins are also usually linked to what team you managed and depend on a lot of variables. You can be an idiot with a stacked team or be a genius with not a lot of talent to work with. Most people consider Aaron Boone an idiot but he's approaching 500 wins as a manager. I think its clear Valentine was bad in 2012
  13. The 2012 Red Sox manager had over a 1000 wins.
  14. This is true - but as we've seen with Sale and Kluber, you need to be cautious paying injury prone pitcher, especially older ones and giving them long term contracts. Eovaldi only got two years $34 million and he is two years younger than Paxton. I'm not sure what Paxton is looking for but I'd be fine committing 1-2 years to him, but I'd probably pass on anything longer.
  15. He's going to be 35 though and has a very lengthy injury history. Not sure I'd want to commit three years to him.
  16. Christian Arroyo has looked really bad this year.
  17. I think that belongs to Duran
  18. The offense looks to be getting hot again
  19. Paxton has a relatively low pitch count. We might see him for another inning
  20. You are right, his record is near immaculate with his decisions, especially nonstop using that beast Kike Hernández almost every day.
  21. Byron Buxton doesn’t play the field anymore? Wasn’t he one of the best fielders in the league?
  22. Literally no one called him an idiot. He has made tons of mistakes routinely this season and I notice you’ll never comment on those. But alright
  23. Yeah Cora only makes right moves, absolutely right!
