  1. Bingo. Try explaining that to Cowboys homers. Its impossible.
  2. I definitely wouldn't trade Bowden for him, but Martinez does intrigue me. I don't think it will happen though.
  3. Thanks. One-trick knuckleballers who choke horribly in any kind of important situation just don't really do it for me.
  4. Out of Sheets, CC, and Burnett, Burnett is my first choice.
  5. I hope not. CC is Barry Zito, part 2 (maybe not as extreme though). No way will he live up to the contract he's in line for. The Yankees can have him.
  6. What about him? I'd rather have Suppan than Wakefield, not even close.
  7. Is anyone gonna get mad if I say Fail (in response to the first post)? I know how tabooed it is around these parts...
  8. For argument purposes, we could offer Wagner. I do agree though that Colletti would have to OD on crack to even think about trading Martin.
  9. Are you saying other teams would be happy to have him? If so, I feel for those other teams.
  10. No, we need to can Wakefield because he is just not good.
  11. Can them both (Wakefield and Varitek). I know I defended Varitek over the summer, but he's just drove me insane over the past month. Give the Rangers a call and try to swipe Saltalamacchia.
  12. I'm not sure that's set in stone. We'll see though.
  13. Ick, you missed Ortiz actually making contact with something. For one at-bat he stopped resembling a 400 pound blind guy trying to kill a mosquito.
  14. I think either the Rangers or Cardinals end up with him. Rangers have plenty of hitting prospects that the Padres could use, and need a quality pitcher any way they can get one. The Cardinals would probably want another big time pitcher to go with Wainwright and Lohse, since Mulder is likely done for his career and Carpenter's in rough shape lately (not sure on his status for next season). I could also see Cleveland getting involved. Their bats will come back healthy next year, and if they could pair Peavy with Cliff Lee, that's a good enough rotation to almost ensure a playoff berth, with the hitters they have.
  15. Forgot about the additional day off between 4-5. My bad. If that's the case, then yes, Lester 6 and Beckett 7.
  16. Hmmm... I'll vote the latter, and place $50 on it.
  17. Me too, I guess. I'll also flip s*** if Wakefield actually starts. Throwing him out there is just admitting and accepting your defeat.
  18. f***in dumbshit announcer, forgot what game it was. Flaming piece of garbage.
  19. And we got WAKEFIELD going tomorrow!!! Yaaaaayyyy!!!!
  20. f*** the Rays, f*** Paul Byrd, f*** Chip Caray, f*** everyone
