  1. Well yeah it hurts it, but its not a crippling enough loss to where they immediately fall back to the rest of the pack in the AL West. I think the Angels could afford losing K-Rod more than they could afford losing Teixiera. My line of thinking is, the Angels have always had a deep bullpen, and they keep drawing guys out of nowhere. I mean, who had heard of Jose Arredondo before last season? Cheap argument, I know.
  2. I'm pretty sure the Angels have been grooming Jose Arredondo for that closer spot. I don't think losing K-Rod's a huge deal.
  3. If their making a playoff push that explains it a bit better (though it still seems like a waste of time with the Angels in their division). Street may have been on his way out, but he's still a quality closer. Gonzalez is a top tier prospect. Smith didn't do so well last season but IIRC the A's have (or had) high hopes for him. I think they gave away too much if they just plan on flipping somewhere else in July.
  4. Are they really going to get a return package identical to what they just gave up, considering they'd be dealing him as a rental, and Holliday would become a free agent after the season? I sure as hell wouldn't pay that kind of package for 3 months of Holliday.
  5. What a moronic trade for the A's. Also, I need that link bosoxnation07, I have another message board I post on that I'm sure would love to know about this.
  6. linkage, mister
  7. Well that was unexpected. As soon as I can remember the rest of Oakland's roster, I'll decide how good they are.
  8. I won't consider you a bandwagoner. This has been an absolute rapejob so far. I love it.
  9. DeAngelo Hall signs with the Redskins http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3688600
  10. f*** that, I s*** on the Yankee Stadium floors.
  11. Well to be fair, sports agents have to be unethical to be any good. They have to compete with each other for clients and ensure that they keep those clients by getting them the most money possible. Its a dirty business.
  12. Drew Rosenhaus is unethical (so I hear), but I haven't heard much complaining about him.
  13. Hey hey sometimes that's their only way of supporting themselves. :dunno:
  14. I'm still not completely sold on Atlanta, though I'm definitely backing off the 12th place statement. Spurs have looked bad, the Kings have been a disgrace, the Suns are starting off well, Hornets, Bulls, and Mavs look better than advertised... wow I f***ed up one third of the league.
  15. Wow, mine are absolute bombs so far.
  16. Welcome aboard. The beginning of Boras' idiocy? That guy's been a f***tard as long as I can remember.
  17. Dumpster of dicks. Alliteration FTW. Like msu said, I'm curious why Varitek deserves more money than his previous contract when he's pretty much at end of the line, offensively.
  18. Translation: he's being shopped
  19. http://www.the506.com/nflmaps/ Thought this would come in handy for some of you.
  20. McGrady's lack of defensive presence was pretty alarming. I know there were rumors swirling during the summer that T-Mac was being shopped, the Rockets may have to seriously think about unloading him now. Though its probably too late to get anything useful.
  21. Well to be fair, have they ever had a really decent roster outside of those three? The Spurs will be fine, they never really turn up the heat until mid-January anyway.
  22. Captain dumbf*** strikes again: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3683124
  23. Sounds fair. Bottoms up.
