As I mentioned in another thread, the power outages in NE shielded me from the sports world the past few days. No TV, no internet, no way of knowing what's going on. Because I don't really want to burrow through the 1380 new posts it says there are on the corner of my screen, can someone give me an idea of where we stand with some of the prominent rumors (Tex, and the like) in baseball, and clue me in to any new rumors that have bubbled up?

Are these all the moves that have happened, the ones that are listed in here? I'm a little out of the loop, that power outage BS pretty much shunned me from all sports news that past few days.

HA. please. The Yankees are still third best in the AL east. They signed an injury prone Burnett who only produces when he's in a contract year, and they signed Sabathia, who is bound to fold in the Bronx. Both of them combined might replace the production they got from Mussina last year, who is now gone. Until the Rays sign another couple of quality players, Theo doesn't have to do anything.

Those beasts will take some getting used to. Was the alternate road really necessary? That hat/uniform combo reminds me so much of the Guardians.

Recover the ball? The kicking team actually recovers the ball .1% of the time. Okay. What was it, 2:30 on the clock? I forget how many TOs the Bucs had left... all they would have really needed is one (though they could pull it off with zero, just rip another 30-40 seconds off the clock), assuming the defense did its job. Carolina takes the 1st run play. Two minute warning. Carolina takes the second run play. Timeout. Then Carolina takes the third run play, eats around 50 seconds between the end of that play and the punt. That gives the Bucs a little over minute to work with. Not ideal, don't like their odds. But they would have had a chance.

What do you mean hearing both sides of the ball? These are baseless, bitter comments from the fans/beat writers of the teams that the Celtics/Garnett crushed. That's the only thing that's bugging me about it.

Okay? So instead of at least leaving it to chance down at the Panthers 25 or something, why go with the onside kick and seal your fate? I think I've been hardest on the defense, personally. Gruden only pissed me off on two or three plays. The defense was horrific the entire night. I hope I've seen the last of Philip f***ing Buchanon. I doubt it, though.

They put a filthy running game on their side of the field. The two minute warning would have assured at least one timeout. If they go 3 and out, the Bucs have a shot.

It doesn't matter how the teams are 'covered'. If Garnett played dirty in Minnesota, he played dirty in Minnesota, and should have been called on it then. None of the market crap matters, watch the games for yourself. I should clarify, I don't think he's dirty at all. He talks, he intimidates, and that pisses other teams off. That's not dirty, that's intensity.

I did too, but the game was completely lost by that point. I don't why Tirico was biased towards Carolina, all I know is he seemed strangely enthusiastic whenever Carolina did something good, and almost spoke in monotone when the Bucs accomplished something positive (a rarity).

I post on quite a few forums, mostly basketball, and the hate that Kevin Garnett is getting is just staggering. What's great is, nobody ever accused him of being a thug or punk when he was in Minnesota. f***, he was considered a model player there. Last year, no one accused him of being a prick except for a couple of angry Hawks fan after the Pachulia thing. Now that he's a winner, everyone wants a piece of him.

All of the above. I remember at least 4 plays that Scal f***ed up, and I know Davis sucked too, then started crying once KG called him on it.

Had a spread wager on another forum about this, that the Celtics would win by 32 or more... it looked like it could happen until Scalacock came in and completely demolished our momentum.

Well the class is 'intro to sports management', since I'm a freshman. I wouldn't say we don't do anything, but its not a horribly difficult class. I got a big test in there tomorrow though.
