It's one thing to debate the hall of fame, but each team determines their own standards for team-specific honors. The fact that Red Sox fans of all people are commenting on what numbers the Yankees should and shouldn't retire is really stupid.

Don't care what anyone says, fights make this board interesting. We haven't had a good one since like two years ago when SCM threatened to use police resources to go after a700 (I think? Maybe I have that turned around). UNTIL NOW. -

So when people mention the 2011 debacle, you dismiss that by saying it was a collapse, then when the 2012 rotation is brought your rebuttal is "yeah but they had no expectations". And you have no answer at all for the 2006 rotation even thought that falls within the 10 year time span you set in the OP. Why do you keep moving the goalposts? Are you really that hellbent on demonizing Cherington and the rest of this team's management? Still? -
An old-as-f*** team that had absolutely no business going that far. Splitting them was seen as a possibility among media/fans then, so it wouldn't have come as too much of a shock if it had happened. I've been calling for Rondo to be traded for-f***ing-ever. I said that if they hang on him his trade value will plummet. And WHAT THE f*** DO YOU KNOW, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED.

The band shouldn't have even been brought back for 2012-13. The Celtics screwed themselves over by pushing it for that one last year. And we won what, 43 games? Now all we have to show for Rondo is a conditional first rounder and Jameer Nelson.
