  1. It's not the best fit in the world, but it's something.
  2. Must be brand-new news. I was just over on ESPN and didn't see anything.
  3. So your personal experiences are king, and everything else bunk, huh? Alcohol impairs your judgement. This is a fact. So who are you to say 'alcohol doesn't make anyone beat their wives or drive drunk [lol]'? If you're boozed up and can't help yourself, there's no telling what you'll do. You shouldn't be let off the hook for it, but it's not a reflection on your intelligence either.
  4. Dipre and BPEF are right on the money. All the people lining up to call him (or anyone with a booze problem) an 'idiot' either doesn't know how alcohol works or is just a douchenozzle in general.
  5. The Lester deal is a good deal though. This isn't quite the same as us blowing our load early and spoonfeeding Beckett that abortion of a contract.
  6. I love how when the Lakers lose, the regular season doesn't matter and the playoffs are all that counts. But when they win, it's a huge victory and true glimpse at what they're capable of.
  7. Most teams are over the salary cap, so the total of the incoming and outgoing salaries (for the year the trade is occuring) in the trade have to be within 25% of each other. Bynum's contract is pretty big and within that range of Anthony's, so the trade works (Denver would likely want to unload a bad contract or two while they're at it, which is why I brought up Harrington). LA can sign Melo long term because a player's Bird rights are traded with them wherever they go. Bird rights are what allow a team to re-sign their own players, even if they have to exceed the normal salary cap to do it (but not the 'hard' cap, which is well above the 'normal' cap, don't know the exact number though).
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=6101304 Apparently the Lakers and Nuggets are talking Melo, with Bynum being the main piece going to Denver. Could be real, could also be a smokescreen for Denver to try and get the Knicks to make an actual serious offer. Bynum by himself is better than Gallinari, Fields and Chandler, and the Nuggets could shed Harrington's contract too by sending him to LA as well for Vujacic's trade exception and maybe someone like Walton. Hope it happens. We could very well have Wade, LeBron, Kobe, Melo, and Gasol all in the same finals, or the latter three with the Celtics big 4 and Shaq (or the Spurs could slide past LA too, you never know). Sports leagues are much better when you have a few absolutely titanic teams who can stand nose to nose and land an equal number of haymakers on each other, and have to really work to beat each other, instead of this ******** where half the league's teams have a real shot to break mediocrity for a season, sneak in, win a title, and go back to sucking the next year without changing the roster much.
  9. I'd have to bet on the Wizards in that matchup. 26 straight losses on the road is pretty horrible, but nothing beats the Cavs in a futility war.
  10. Yawn. I once thought you were simply shameless, but it's hit me that you actually think you've done anything this whole time, other than spam the white knight routine and make empty declarations of victory when you haven't done squat. God, you are a complete waste of space. In any case, we both know you'll jump back in with some pathetic 'look wut happens when you feed teh troll!!1!' remark the next time one of these other clowns takes another shot at me (and misses). Who the f*** do think you're kidding? You're not dropping this to be the bigger person (otherwise you would have done so the first time you said you were dropping it), you're dropping this because you've finally gained some sort of inkling as to how f***ing stupid you sound and how you can't dig your way out of the massive hole your dipshittery has dug for you. I guess I could 'be the bigger person', but it's way too much fun 'styling on you' and the other chimps (technically I'm the only one who can be 'styling' here, because I'm STILL the only one who's actually arguing anything and making any points).
  11. The lack of intelligence and common sense between the three of you is another common factor. Not meant to be funny or witty, just truth. Yawn. Get smarter and this wouldn't be a problem for you. Pot, kettle, black. Y228 acknowledged points you made that had absolutely nothing to do with anything we've been discussing. Do you honestly expect me to fall for this s***? As for the rest of this, well, there goes the white knight again. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself, champ. But I suggest looking at what I have captured in my sig before you yourself try to put down my personality.
  12. My posts are all about sinking to the level of commenting on Garnett's bad attitude or Pierce's wheelchair, huh?
  13. HEY BUTT OUT
  14. You're allowed to think whatever you want, just don't be surprised when people point out the numerous holes in it. That's how it works. Even so, political figures and sports figures aren't really the same thing, but that's neither here or there. And someone who merely makes tons of money for playing a game and thinks too highly of himself (in your opinion) really crosses that line, huh?
  15. LOLOLOLOLOL So you theoretically hating me and thinking I'm an ******* based on internet exchanges where, you know, we've actually interacted, is on the exact same level as the petty hate you display for someone who you've never interacted with and whose only crime is thinking too highly of himself. At the risk of repeating myself, you are clueless.
  16. Ohhhh, good one. You can dislike him, but your reasons for disliking someone you don't know and have never even met are mind-numblingly retarded, and make you look like a jealous little bitch. What are your feelings on Mike Vick? Ben Roethlisberger? Gilbert Arenas? You know, guys that have actually had some sort of harmful criminal activity attached to their name at some point. People on here actually have interaction with each other, so not the same thing. There was no injury? Prove it, doctor Joe Fan. And since when did an elbow injury in May mean automatic concern for October/November? You're not too good at 'playing this game'. WOW. Basketball players can get along with each other and still have chemistry issues on the court, Einstein. What the f*** that has to do with anything posted beforehand, I have no idea, but yes, it means nothing. Every great team has different great players who excel at different things. In play style, Chris Bosh isn't Kevin Garnett, LeBron James isn't Paul Pierce, Dwyane Wade isn't Ray Allen (or Rondo, for that matter), so what the f*** does anyone gain out of comparing the two teams in their first year together? God you're clueless. And this has what to do with what? And this has what to do with what? Oh right, I forgot, you Joe Fans don't like it when famous athletes deviate from your opinion of how they should think of themselves. WHO. CARES? And the last game they played was mid-November, when the Heat were sputtering out of the gate. The playoffs start in April, over two months from now, and the earliest we can expect a Heat/Celtics series is mid-late May. Congratulations, you don't have a point. So you would still be bitching up a storm though. So someone actually pays you to do more than that? God help that company.
  17. What are you, 6? Irrelevant, anyone's who has followed sports for more than a month or two knows that you don't set first-year championships as benchmarks. He mailed it in? Prove it. Easy for Joe Fan to say. Awww, want a pukey bucket? Terrific. That doesn't mean anything. Terrific. That doesn't mean anything. Why a bunch of sadsack Joe Fans like you hate them doesn't really matter. D-Wade summed it up nicely, in that same article no less: "I think the stat is, Boston is 30-15 (actually 30-17) in the playoffs since they've been together. We're 0-0." Really? lol How's the statement stupid? They feel they have chemistry issues, and said so. You'd still be bitching up a storm if LeBron, Wade, and Bosh covered it up and said there was no problem. Not a smart quote, but does it really matter? He said that when Miami was an underwhelming 7-4 after a cake schedule to open the season. It's reasonable to assume (based on common sense) that the message of the quote wasn't 'we don't want to work', it was 'we feel overworked for where we are at this point in our Heat careers, 10% of the way through our first season together'. Yeah yeah yeah, you're sad that they make a lot of money for playing basketball while poor little you mans the deep frier at Wendy's. Tragic.
  18. Remember, nothing wrong with LeBron's supporting cast.
  19. I think you should just do my spreadsheet for me, since I don't feel like breaking my back doing something like that for a simple redraft.
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=6045200 Manny and Johnny Damon to the Rays. http://sports.espn.go.com/losangeles/story?id=6046548 Vernon Wells to the Angels for Juan Rivera and Mike Napoli.
  21. Honestly, I was fully intent on dropping this, but you just keep tossing me fat ones that I can't bring myself to pass up. I never claimed to be a basketball guru. Why are you putting words in my mouth? And yet, you're the one flailing about trying to justify your petty, junior high level hatred for some basketball player who you just think likes himself too much. Yes, I do want fries with that. I told you why I hadn't put Barton at 1B, everyone would knock me down for not having enough power coming from that position. That's not ignoring anything, Einstein. I didn't even discount the possibility of doing it. Your memory kinda sucks (as if your LeBron bullshitting didn't make that clear enough). Oh, and Barton produced at a near all-star level last year (due to excellent defense and being an on base machine), without showing an inkling of power all year (something on-base machines are known to develop). He's also has a minimum salary. And I wanted to ensure that I didn't lose him to someone else by waiting too many rounds. So I'm pretty happy with it. Look at that, even your pathetic attempt to take me down a peg using the baseball draft (lol) blew up in your face. Do better.
