  1. Calling Henry an idiot and saying that he's running the team into the ground? Are those facts? No, they're biased, wildly off-base opinions slapped together by your debilitated, swiss-cheese brain. But, par for the course, right? Under Henry's ownership, this team has had the most success it's had since the 1910s. The Red Sox are one of two teams in baseball with multiple world series titles in the new millennium. From 2002-2012, we have as good a track record as any team in the game not named the Yankees. Facts. Tell me, who exactly is responsible for all that? One s***** season means nothing. The brass recognized the mistakes they had made, and shipped the problem children out of town. The vast majority of management groups would have stuck by these guys to the bitter end in an attempt to avoid admitting defeat. Instead, we were able to push the reset button much faster, and that speeds up the process of the getting the team back to where it needs to be. That's the exact opposite of running the franchise into the ground. There are going to be down years in between eras. It's unavoidable. I suggest you learn that. You know, I don't know where the f*** you get the nerve to call an entire generation of people useless adults, when you spend your days banging away on your keyboard, frothing at the mouth about how incompetent the management of a f***ing sports team is, how the f***ing sky is falling because of them, and how you deserve better. You don't. Get your s*** together, because you're pathetic. Calling his response now:
  2. Brush up on the definition of 'facts', please. I would have written something more elaborate to tell you exactly why what you said was f***ing retarded, but all I ever get in response when I put you in your place that way is "troll ". Not really worth the effort.
  3. If you actually believe that, then you are one of the single stupidest people on the face of the earth. There's really nothing else than can be said.
  4. Ten f***ing years ago. Do you even try?
  5. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/8543189/ozzie-guillen-fired-manager-miami-marlins Lol that organization is a mess. Bash Lucchino, Henry and co. all you want, I'd take them in a heartbeat over the idiots running the Marlins.

  7. Who the f*** cares about Mike Aviles?
  8. Laughed harder at this one.
  9. Okay, I laughed.
  10. Tell me I'm not the only one who read this wrong the first time.
  11. I know, it was my post about paralyzed sea elephants. I was proud of it.
  12. I lost a post in this thread.
  13. Day games just don't feel like playoff games.
  14. Ask me in February. On both questions.
  15. You can't build a house without a foundation. You don't build a team by throwing around large sums of money. At some point, you have to push the reset button. Good young players are the foundation. Once you've established your core, then you go shopping on the market for whatever else you need. But it takes time to get to that point. It's unavoidable. I want to focus on having a good bullpen, simply because it will get us some extra wins in the meantime. Like you said. If the Red Sox are down for a few years and then return to contention, the fans will all come crawling back. They did for the Celtics after they were crap for the better part of two decades, and they were as never as big at their peak as the Red Sox have been. Management shouldn't worry.
  16. Nothing fancy. Draft smart, gather prospects, don't spend money foolishly. Either trade Ellsbury or let him walk after next year, whichever nets you the better value. Focus on building a good bullpen for the next couple of years. 2015 should be the target date for getting back to serious contention. You think you can hang on until then?
  17. What the f*** are you rambling about. You asked if there was a higher percentage of people 'cracking up' in Boston than in other cities, in response to people's concerns about Greinke. I asked how many players that have worn the Red Sox uniform have had the kind of mental issues that Greinke's had. You answered one. My reply was meant to show that one isn't a sample size worth dick. All caught up now? Taking that and the fact that the Red Sox need a hell of a lot more than a properly functioning Greinke to be any good next year into account, Greinke just is not worth the risk. The team needs to rebuilt the right way, not with kneejerk signings meant to complement a non-existent core. Oh, and comparing ADD to f***ing anxiety disorder might be the stupidest thing I've read this week.
  18. So. Much. This. It's amazing to me that people think the best way to rebound from the A-Gon era is to piss away another $100 million apiece on a couple of 30 year olds with bad makeup who could implode at any time. It would be one thing if we were an elite team looking for ways to upgrade while on top, but we're a 69 win team lacking leadership, stability, and good players. I'm struggling to think of a better way to waste that money. We're going to be bad next year. We're probably not going to be good in 2014 either. Deal with it. The team needs to be rebuilt the right way, from the ground up. Throwing huge chunks of money at an agoraphobic and a guy with substance abuse issues isn't the solution, it will only set us back two years.
  19. Tell me all the people we've acquired who have had to take time away from baseball and go on medication for an anxiety disorder, and I can give you a better answer.
  20. Gambling with mental problems, particularly an anxiety disorder, is a really stupid thing to do. Especially in a place like Boston. I can't believe people still think that recklessly throwing around five year contracts is the way to fix your franchise. We're going to be a subpar team for a year or two. Deal with it. I'd sign a couple of these guys to 1 year deals, that's it. Maybe Edwin Jackson too, depending on what his price tag is.
  21. ON ESPN, Francona just recommended Farrell, Hale, Mills, and Bogar for the job.
  22. I don't want to say 'good', because I don't like to campaign for people to get fired... but it had to happen. Doesn't matter that much who the next manager is, we're not going to be any good next year, unless management makes a few knee-jerk big budget signings, which will just restart this whole process.
  23. As long as Valentine's gone I don't really care.
  24. Valentine looked rattled in that interview.
