Banned in Boston's Achievements

  1. The current Yankee stadium happens to stand in the shell of the old one, but the House that Ruth Built was razed in 1974. In any case I won't miss visting the dump. Typical Skankee fan arrogance-"do what we want-we're the legends here."
  2. Guys who led from Day two don't deserve to win the division? All because the Yankees are on one of the hottest streaks in the history of baseball? I've heard it all now. Yeah, Sox, you pathetic losers, you don't deserve to win. Jeez.
  3. Yankee fans had their long knives into Moose three weeks ago. They treated far worse than Drew or anyone else has been treated in Boston. Yet surprise surprise here they are praising him yet again.
  4. I think if the Sox lose the division because of Gagne and then don't win the pennant THeo should be fired. And with him Francona will probably go. Winning the division has been paramount to me all year because of what it means. Losing the division to them at this point is about as miserable as I can imagine. Maybe it's because I live in NYC and have to listen to them. Losing the division is not only a mental shock but it just seems so wrong. RIght now this is a mini-slump-4 of 5. But the idea that the Sox could play relatively consistently all season long and still lose to them just boggles my mind.
  5. I guess I don't see the evidence for them going 6-5 in the next 11, when the only series they lost in the last month were a random one at TB and to NYY. So going with the trends, I foresee at most three more losses - one in each remaining series after this - and a record over the last 2 weeks of 8-4. I don't see that as limping but rather playing the way they've been playing all along. I understand your point about the hypo, but I don't see the background facts supporting that scenario.
  6. What is on Flying Patriot Man's nose in your pic?
  7. I didn't see last night, but I don't see how you can say they "played like crap" in the Yankee series. Two pitchers peformed poorly in one game, and one starter was left in too long in the other. That was about it. If anyone played poorly it was the Yankees. They were completely asleep through 7 on Friday and rolled over on Saturday, but because of the pop in in their lineup they got away with it. The Sox have played steady as she goes .600 baseball since the break. Meanwhile the Septic Tanks have had stretches of 8-2 followed by 2-8. I expect them to continue in the .600 to .650 range the next two weeks (8-4 from here out sounds about right), and play about that pace when they get into the post season.
  8. Fans are funny these days. They want athletes to "man up", but they excuse them for the most weak minded things and in fact think they are so weak minded that they must constantly be "motivated" by the manager. Shelly Duncan admits that playing big league ball is an unlikely dream come true. He needs to start acting like he believe that and knows his place.
  9. Dude, did you just accuse me of being a Yankees fan? Wow.
  10. Obviously not posted by an editor of Boston Dirt Dawgs.
