  1. I am not concerned with out pitching even though Lester and Dice-K continued their control-issues from last year. My big issue with this team is offense. I think last year we lucked out with lack of offense as the Yanks had horrible April - I dont think it will be same this year. Lowell has got to take a back-step - the question is can Drew pick-up? It will also be hard for D-Ped and Jacoby to continue their performance from last season. Unfortunately V-TeK has also continued his slide. I think Sox have more question marks - just because their is no question mark on the offensive side of the Yankees. I will pick the Yankees win the division by 2 games - but all that can change with a single incident like a Joba injury.
  2. Sure - I wish I am wrong - but I doubt it.
  3. Kottaras - I hope or trade. Extending Tek is not a good idea IMO. BTW - Tek numbers at this rate will be similar to Cash. First impression from two games - Sox seems to continue their lack of offense from last year which will be an issue if they can't pick-up. I think Drew will really hold the key on how good or bad the offense will be.
  4. Papi has not been AWEFUL since 2005 summer. Just waiting to jump in Tek discussion - but I seriously hope they don't extend his contract.
  5. About time. IMO - Cash caught Wakefield better than Belli last year - after he had some initial hick-ups.
  6. OK - so you condone his going to press - is that what you are saying? You think any player who looses out to competition should immediately go to press? I understand Coco's position - this is the second time he lost out to young talent ( first in Cleveland to Sizemore) - so he has a right to be upset. But should he not compete and get his starting job back instead of bitching about it? Or his expectation is that he will be just handed over the starting CF job even though Ellsbury overall outperformed him? Two questions for you: 1. Do you support Coco ( or any player) voicing their opinion publically instead of taking it through proper channel or proving them on the field? 2. Do you think Coco should just be handed over the CF job over Ellsbury without any competition (meaning Coco overall is way better than Ellsbury)?
  7. Dude - I don't like him because he thinks he is better than Ellsbury, will not accept a 4th OF role which he is best suited for and by voicing his opinion publically he is becoming a cancer in my team where they will be forced to deal him for nothing. Other than that - I am fine with him. I have no personal vendatta against him and I do not wish him any ill - trust me.
  8. TheKilo - that was an intelligent reply - I at least hoped you will come up with some statistics.
  9. Coco is not only a really really bad player on offense - he is turning out to be quite a pain in the ass for the team. So far he could have won the job in spring training with good showing as Ellsbury has not done s*** yet this year. But he has not shown up in the field yet with groin injury and is running his stupid mouth again. How come he does not get it that no-one in the league wants him in their starting line-up - they would rather go with rookies? At some point would it ever occur to him that he needs to win over the starting job because he SUCKS? What has he done for the Sox in last 2 year and how long is he and his fans gonna give the excuse of a broken finger that happened one and half years back? I have no clue how Tito or any manager for that matter could start him over Jacoby. I may be the Gom on sox side who gives up on his team easy - but I am having bad feeling about this team already.
  10. More like he will get what he is begging for. He might be the only player who will get in trouble because of the Mitchell report. And all he had to blame is his big mouth and fat ego. He could have just been like Pettitte - admit that he used it and move on. Or he could have been like Mark Mcguire - STFU and disappear. No - he had to be the John Wayne. Do you guys remember Jim Carrey in Liar Liar - where he could not speak any lie even though he tried to? Clemens has become the opposite of that - any word coming out of his mouth is false. Even though he saw what happened to Bonds and Marion Jones - he just had to drag this on to himself.
  11. We are in complete agreement here - only thing is though I think for some reason teams are not interested in Coco even though he is great in defense and quite affordable. May be they think he is so bad in offence - that overall he should not be in everyday line-up. I think he will be a fantastic 4th OF. Now that noone wants to trade for him and he has been God aweful at the plate since he broke his finger- why can't he be happy here as a back-up? Why he is pulling a Jay Patton? He will great plenty of playing time as we have Manny and Drew in our line-up.
  12. You and I have historically disagreed on Coco - why would it change now.
  13. It took a study to figure out that Jeter is the worst short-stop? Don't they have Yes network? I watched almost all Yankee games - Jeter was horrible on the field. He and Giambi were quite a combo to watch. Edit - and it's not like he was usual great with the bat. Did not even show-up in the post-season.
  14. I don't think so. For example - I don't think Theo has got lot of calls - 'We want Coco - let's negotiate'. No-one else wants him despite the Sox fans in this site thinking very highly of him. We had more chance of shipping him last year - it will be hard now for sure as all teams are set in CF. I think Coco sucks - period. If he does not want to be the 4th outfielder - screw him.
  15. Add to doomlist - Pettite not available all summer because he is the main witness to a civil suit!
  16. May be because noone else wants him in their line-up?
  17. Looks like nanny contradicts Clemens story - a case of 'mis-remembering' may be. We can take another poll - at what point Clemens admits he lied and he has used steroids? I think after he gets cuffed.
  18. Anyone watching this can post so we get some understanding how this is going? Where is Thumper when we need him.
  19. I like Coco as a 4th OF - I hope now he sees there is no market for him he sucks it up and plays hard for us.
  20. Pettitte said that Clemens talked to him about using HGH. http://www.nypost.com/seven/02132008/sports/yankees/juicy_twist_to_d_c__showdown_97459.htm Here is the funny part. Clemens said Pettitte misundestood him - Clemens's wife had used HGH not Clemens. If I remember right - that's exactly what Mcnamee said - he injected Clemen's wife under Clemen's direction. I wonder who should we believe now - way to throw wifey under the bus Roger. I think bottom-line is Clemens is f***ed. He can have fun sharing cell with Bonds.
  21. Coco's future - 4th outfielder or ballboy with RedSox - apparently noone wants the greatest CF after Willy Mays even at a discounted price. I wonder why the FO of other baseball teams don't look at all the VORP or whatever posted on this site.
  22. Agrees on 1 year 3 million. Now - I am not the greatest of Youk fans - but that's a pretty good deal. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/baseball/mlb/02/10/redsox.youkilis.ap/index.html
