Yes - i want Millar over Casey. Don't get me wrong - I am not a huge Millar fan. But I want Millar for pinch hitting instead of Casey. I also suspect that Casey will struggle to keep his average going forward. Edit - Why one over another. I am sure we can keep both in September.

Not as per average - but we could use some right hand pop now that Manny is not here. Believe it or not - he is probably better in defense. Overall he is better than Casey IMO.

So right. Moose is doing what Wang would have done - so the injury excuse does not fly. Red Sox ( and almost all other teams) have had similar injury problems and Manny had to be shipped out because of his attitude. The fact that the Sox young players ( pitching and in the filed) have outperformed the Yankee's tells us either they are better or they have been managed better by our FO. Also the fact that the Sox team has shown unusal depth in both pitching and position players to encounter the injury. In 2005/2006 we did not have this pitching depth. The reason injury was a problem was nothing but lack of plan 'B' by Cashman ( and sometime plan 'A'). Call me crazy - but I will take Joe over Tito any day. Tito is aweful and I don't care how many championship he has won. His managing the ego of veterans does not fly any more as he was not able to manage Manny. He blocks deserving young players for aweful veterans. The only reason Lowrie could play is Lugo gets injured. We have countless example of him sticking to the vet's on both side of the game ( Tek, Timlin etc.). I don't even know how Tito contributes to this team in any form - we are so better off without him.

Loving the game so far. Tek is hitless against this pitching. You will have to be really good to do that. Even Coco got hit.

I am not saying FO is at fault. But even though noone saw Pena develop to what he is now - you still have to think that we missed one there. It happens. I wonder how Minny has been feeling about Ortiz.

Not sure I agree and I know Pena has slipped through everyone's hand. Hinske got plenty of time to prove himself. We did not give Pena enough look.

No doubt Jacoby has taken a step back as everyone handed him over the ROY before the start of the season. But he is coming back - Coco looks like he is done and will never be a replacement for Damon as we as hoped. FO should have traded Coco when his value was high.
