  1. So the French team just refused to practice today reacting to Anelka's dismissal. Those guys really hate their coach. What a 'team'. Italy tying with New Zealand (arguably the worst team in the tournament) is beyond funny.
  2. Really sad to hear this. Just an awesome person who was always looking out for others and not himself. He gave most of his NBA earnings to establishing schools in Africa and other stuff there.
  3. I love interleague play. Beating down the NL has become a fun June tradition. It's especially great picking up wins on days when we pitch Wakefield and Dice-K/Doubront/etc because you know the next three days we're throwing the three headed monster of Buchholz/Lester/Lackey.
  4. I think it's going to be a mix somewhere in the range of 60/40 boo/cheer, but despite all the frustrating times from a fan's perspective he is still one of the best players to ever don a Red Sox uniform. This team has had a ton of success since '04, but people are quick to forget that before that it wasn't all that great. Manny was a huge part of that '04 WS team (and '07) as well as the WS MVP and I think he deserves to get a loud ovation. I was very disappointed with the way he left town, but I'm not going to let that wipe away all the fantastic memories of him crushing baseballs over the Monster for 8 years.
  5. You know, I really would love to live in a world where game officials are held accountable for their actions like everyone else in the world who has a job. Kudos, FIFA.
  6. ...Or was it his mom? I was searching but couldn't find the thread.
  7. Well, his dad used to post here...
  8. Same here, only add 4 hours to that. I'll only miss about the whole thing. Tivo is my friend.
  9. I fully expected to come home and see a line for Moyer similar to what we did to him last Friday.
  10. Anyone need a catcher or some steals? Talk to me.
  11. The thing about Rasheed that worries me is that he gets into foul trouble QUICK. I fully expect that to happen again in Game 7, especially if he gets the nod to start. The last thing I want to see is freaking Shelden Williams playing minutes in a Game 7. That will effectively seal our fate.
  12. I have absolutely no idea what to expect tomorrow night. I could see pretty much anything happening. Tough luck with Perk.
  13. Hahaha Very surprised Spain went down today. Wow. Glad to see Japan upset Cameroon a few days ago. That was pretty cool. It was their first ever World Cup win not on Japanese soil. I fully expected them to finish last in their group, but they're off to a great start. US better take care of bidness on Friday against Slovenia.
  14. Disagree with you here. Virginia has a phenomenal baseball program, but they haven't been relevant in football or basketball in quite a few years now. Unless you're counting lacrosse or something, which isn't really on the SEC's radar. It is exciting, but I really just wish the conferences would've stayed the same. Maybe when everything is worked out on down the line I'll like it better than before, but for now I'm not a huge fan of all this moving around. Some of it makes zero sense geographically, although I know it's truly all about money anyway.
  15. Hell naw son Who wouldn't want to join the SEC? The SEC has the biggest tv contracts, gets the most attention, and churns out the best teams every year... all of these factors which obviously mean it's going to have the most money too.
  16. What an unbelievable game by the bench. Played almost all of the 4th. If we're going to win this series, I think we have to win Game 5. Going back to LA and winning both 6 and 7 is highly unlikely.
  17. Please name the PG's in the NBA better than Rondo.
  18. Cannot believe we just split a 4 gamer with Cleveland.
  19. Woooo it's here. My official predictions: Group A 1. France 2. Mexico 3. Uruguay 4. South Africa Group B 1. Argentina 2. South Korea 3. Nigeria 4. Greece Group C 1. England 2. United States 3. 20. Bump. NCAA regionals going on now. 4 seed Minnesota beat 1 seed Cal State Fullerton last night. In that same regional New Mexico also beat Stanford so you've got the 3 and 4 going in the winners bracket game later tonight on ESPNU. Virginia hammered Ole Miss tonight. Really enjoyable to see.
