Just to add fuel to the fire, I heard this morning on EEI the Gabbard has a strained forearm. (If I really wanted to monday morning QB a move it would be Gagne vs. Dye, but that has beaten enough).

I agree with you on Lester and had a similar thought with Buch. However I remember readinf some place that the plan is to shut him down soon. Saw some stat during the game - Lester ave. about 18 pitches per inning this and last year.

Stories and rumors. That is the problem with the FO there, they have treated SS more like a soap opera than a baseball position.

Rent-a Wreck was one of Theo's love children, just like Drew and Lugo. There is no baseball reason why they were brought here other than Theo wanted them.

I've heard it was 2 of 3, but not seen that yet. If in fact it was 2 of 3, that is high. I'm dissappointed he did not have a plan B, unless it is call ups?

The pen is sick and pitching is what wins in Oct. I'm still worried about the bench. Hopefully that will change when rosters expand. But right now I'm thinking Theo choked on the Dye deal.

BORASS Maybe I'm missing something but doesn't it go something like: Barass tell your guy we'll pay his incentives, he gets closer when Pap needs rest, and we all know he will and he gets a shot at a ring, or you can play the rest of the season in obscurity. Call us when you want to sign.

Those type of games drive me nuts. Wasting Beckett's solid start on mental errors. Cora misses the hit and run sign and leaves Tek dangling 1/2 to second. Coco, looked like he may have been safe; I could not really see if he got the glove over in time, but from the angle the ump was at, neither could he (with Coco blocking). What I could see, if Coco does not slow up 2/3 of the way down the line, we're not talking about it; and as pointed out if Manny is giving Coco the down sign, Coco probably does not slow down. I'd take Cora, Coco and Manny out back to the shed on that one and give the belt to Beckett. If they take 3/4 I'll forget about it.

If the Red Sox were to land him, I would like to agree with you as far as an extension almost being a prerequisite. Although with Borass as the agent I think the Red Sox would need to grossly overpay to keep Tex out of FA. That is why I do not like this deal. I want him, but not at what the cost seems to be given Atlanta's new found interest (I'm seeing and hearing it again this AM) and that in all likelihood Tex is gone in 1+ year. If you can get a reasonable extension, then do it. I just do not think you can with Borass.

I sa that too. It looks like it would take the farm to get in front of Atlanta; I believe mlb.co said 3 top prospects including Salti. I would not send our farm for 1 year plus of Tex.
