  1. So far Lester's topping at about 92-93mph. I say he goes about 5 2/3 for us tonight.
  2. And Pedroier leads off with a walk.
  3. And the game is just about to get underway, Lester was looking good warming up from what I heard, I think we're in for a very good pitching perfomance by Lester. What we'll need is run support tonight, considering Bonderman's last start against the Sox in 2007, we need to strike early and make him s*** the bed, and then tear up the Detroit bullpen.
  4. Okay I think Lester will give us a quality start. About 5.2-6.1 innings worth and will give up 1-2 runs and about 5 hits. Then we can get Delcarmen and Papelbon in for the hold and save.
  5. Teams: Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox Location: Fenway Park, Boston Date/Time: April 9, 2008 at 7:05pm EST TV: NESN, MLBtv Starting Pitchers: http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_452657.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_425827.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/logos/38x45/bos_38x45.gif #31 Jon Lester, LHP (1-1, 3.38) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/logos/38x45/det_38x45.gif #38 Jeremy Bonderman, RHP (0-1, 5.68) It's simple, if we win, that means we've won two in a row, if we win again Thurday, that's what we call a winning streak, now let's get it started. Lester needs to get us through atleast 5 innings, which I'm very confident he can do. Tek and Drew need to hold their groove, Papi and Manny need to heat up, now is the time while we've got the wheel beginning to roll. So let's take two from the Tigers atleast, and we'll cross the Game 3 Brdige when we get there.
  6. I have MLBtv, and for me it's just find, good stream, rarely an interruption video wise. I'm blacked out from Astros, Rangers, and I think the Braves games, but I have FOX to watch the Astros to get a baseball fill and I could care less about the Rangers and the Braves. It's really not that bad for $15 a month, the only thing is if you're looking to get it for Sox games and live in New England, you'll be blacked out.
  7. And the Sox take the win. Very good start by Dice-K. Just needs to keep the BB down some more. But he's improved since last season. I'll post tomorrow's game thread later this evening. Maybe we'll get lucky and win again!
  8. Okay so it's the bottom of the 7th, still I missed the ring ceremony and the start. I'm still pissed.
  9. f*** YOU WORK. I got called in at noon and I missed EVERYTHING. I'm f***ing pissed off.
  10. Here we go Sox fans. The first home game of the season is tomorrow. Time to unravel that 2007 World Series banner and hash out some rings! Then to add icing to the cake, let's pound the Tigers. Here's the game stats: Teams: Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox Location: Fenway Park, Boston Date/Time: April 8, 2008 at 2:05pm EST TV: NESN, MLBtv (f*** you for not airing it ESPN). Starting Pitchers: http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_493137.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_121386.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/logos/38x45/bos_38x45.gif #18 Daisuke Matsuzaka, RHP (1-0, 2.31) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/logos/38x45/det_38x45.gif #37 Kenny Rogers, LHP (0-1, 3.00)
  11. Whoever that Jays fan with broom is can take it and shove it in a hole to be named later.
  12. Drew started off well last season too, I'm not holding my breath for him.
  13. Aardsma looks fair right now. If he can keep the Jays silent for the 6th and 7th, hopefully that'll give the offense some time to get some runs in.
  14. It's the middle of the game, no need to jump ship yet. And even if it's a loss, it's April, we still have five months to go to get plenty of wins.
  15. It's only the bottom of the 5th and we're down by 4, we have a chance to pull it off if we can start getting on base and the bullpen doesn't s*** themselves anymore.
  16. I see Varitek's improved his hitting.
  17. That is an improvement.
  18. I have Dick Pole's 1975 baseball card... When I first got it I couldn't help but laugh.
  19. Oh beautiful catch by Manny! Beckett may need a little mound visit, if anything just to cool him down a little.
  20. Beckett's looking great today. I hear they're only gonna keep him in for 85 pitches or so, which isn't a bad idea considering what he's coming from. But 98mph, Beckett's back, no doubt. I also heard that Schilling's not doing surgery, just rehab, may have him back by the second half of the season. Anyone heard more of this?
  21. Isn't today the 4th?
  22. I think Tek did exceptionally well tonight as well. He got robbed of a home run by the Umps but still put some wood on the ball after with that single. Ellsbury's got some good bat speed, and his defense is very solid, he proved that back in Japan. I just hope our 3 and 4 guys can start hitting. I know it's early in the season but the sooner the better right?
