That is a stretch, the guy has never stayed healthy, if he did not break his wrist then he would have missed games for other reasons. If a player's track record is pointing to him being injury prone and he did miss most of the 2005 season because he was injured, how can you make a claim that he would have played in 140+ games? Lets face it, if it wasn't the wrist in 2005 it would have been something else, just look at what he has done in the past. Please don't let his stats for last year fool you. Grady Little coddled him to 131 starts giving him days off, and only using him as a pinch hitter. The man never plays all out, and since he does have that injury clause in his contract look for him to really holding back to collect his paycheck.
So if all you are looking to get with 70 million is a player that can barely mange to play 130 games bat .280 and maybe hit 20 then he is your man, and Theo was right and everyone else in baseball is wrong.
