  1. I'd take Pujols, Cabrera, Fielder, and Howard over Gonzalez. Again, point is power hitting 1B are a dime a dozen.
  2. WE NEED PITCHING. Who the f*** is dependable past Beckett and Lester? Penny has been inconsistent this year, Smoltz has blown, Wake is wake, Dice-K might not be ready or useful, and Buchholz is still to young. I'd rather give up more for Halladay than to get Gonzalez. 1. Our rotation has bigger needs than our offense. 2. Halladay is one of the top 3 pitchers in baseball. Gonzalez isn't even a top 3 1B, let alone hitter. GET HALLADAY.
  3. Also, this is making Bond's achievments look better and better each day. Say what you want about him, but not even other roid users could do what he did.
  4. Papi's comments about Roid usage do make him look like a total douche. As much as I love him, I hope the media calls him on his ********. I'm over steroids. I'm willing to let it go. However, I'm not so forgiving for roid users who acted like saints, claiming they were clean and that Roid users should get banned. When does Papi's contract expire?
  5. No, steroid party. I say Tek, Bay, and Drew need to get back on it.
  6. Lol. There's that STUPID f***ING defensive indifference. Watch Paps blow the save again because of it.
  7. Papi must be back on the juice.
  8. Lol. This all came from the fact that you snapped at someone complaining about THIS season. And your comment about RBI's still stand. It's not just a team specific stat. Adrian Gonzalez is on the worst hitting team in baseball, yet he doesn't have any problems driving in runs.
  9. Well, it isn't unfounded. Drew hasn't hit LHP well in his career (0.257, 0.362, 0.429, 0.791). I don't think it was a bad idea using Baldelli against LHP. Baldelli has struggled this season against RHP. Against LHP, he is (0.304, 0.368, 0.449, 0.818). Looks like Tito knows what he is doing.
  10. Lol. So, you are defending Drew's abysmal season by saying "RBI's are team dependent!"? It's part of the story. A much much bigger factor in producing RBIs... (and I know this is reaching) is HITTING with RISP. I know, I'm really going out on this one. Stop being stupid (That's what you like to say, right?).
  11. I would cream my pants if that happened, and I mean that literally.
  12. With a little power and RBI's, yeah, then he is. But he isn't hitting .270 or driving in runs. With RISP this year: 0.179, 0.343, 0.299, 0.642, 2HR, 26 RBI in 99 PA. That's as bad as it gets, and please, don't come back "OH, but he is getting on base." You don't get paid $14 million to get on base, you get paid that to drive in runs. He came in as a 5 hitter, not some bottom of the lineup chump.
  13. Drew has been durable this season... but has hit like a bitch, so to speak. That's the full problem, either he is injured; has a great, but short season, or has a full(ish) sucky season. He has ONCE put it all together for a great season. Does that mean he can't? No. But history tends to repeat itself... Hopefully Drew proves me wrong and goes on an absolute tear for the rest of his contract and stays on the field. I'm not holding my breath, though.
  14. While I'd absolutely LOVE to land Gonzalez, I still think pitching is this teams #1 priority. We do not have a legitimate #3 guy. Penny has just been too inconsistent to take that role. I'm still hoping for Halladay.
  15. Dude, Graffanino's a stud. He's a difference maker. /sarcasm
  16. Just got back from work (where I got to see some of the awful first inning). GET HALLADAY! Pitching is just too inconsistent and has been all year.
  17. Why on Earth would Toronto want DiceK? No, a more realistic proposal would be what was reported on: Buchholz, one of (Bowden, Masterson, Anderso), and lesser prospects. If they really need a SS to seal the deal, we give them Lowrie + a mid-level prospect and they give us Scutaro.
  18. Halladay and Lee say Hi.
  19. I want my idiots back. I'm not sure what to make of this team. If anything, they are horribly inconsistent. I still think a deal needs to be made. This team just looks weak right now.
  20. f*** this team. Make a move. They aren't going anywhere as is. Reactionary, yes. True? Maybe.
  21. I think you're right...
  22. So we are playing for the tie? ok.
  23. You should get your head examined. Paps just needs to be less worried about "saving" his arm and more concerned with getting outs.
