    I still don't get this "players manager" BS. Players respect managers/coaches that actually stick to their ideals and do the intelligent thing, even if it is an uneasy decision. I know I'm probably going to get a ton of crap for using this example, but just look at Belichick. Sure, he probably does have some enemies, but his players have a TON of respect for him because he puts winning ahead of EVERYTHING. A benched player might not be happy for the decision, but they still respect the coach and stand behind him, realizing it was for the best of the team. I look at coaching like a science, there's not that much gray, either is the right decision or it's the wrong decision. Letting emotions and friendships get in the way only leads to problems and mistakes.

    I'm not suggesting they try to go get all-stars, I'm stating that I don't believe this is the best they could do without giving up talent. Cash might be the worst catcher in all of baseball, I can't believe there isn't a single viable option. Nava was performing well and then they go back to Hermida, who can't field or hit. Their pen is a disaster and absolutely needs help, for both now and the future. They've used McDonald vs righties, which I thought was a mistake from day one, and it's hurting the team. These are all problems which shouldn't be too hard to improve upon. Even a small improvement in all of these areas, or even just a few, could make a big difference.

    You know, we all ripped on Steinbrenner, but he would NEVER let this happen to the Yankees. He would do what ever it took to keep the team competitive through injuries. Theo's attitude "We'll just try to ride it out." Great strategy....

    I just can't believe that there isn't a better catcher we can put out on the field right now. I said earlier that as long as Dusty Brown has a pulse, he couldn't do any worse. I'm retracting that. I think even a zombie is an improvement over Cash.
