  1. I have to admit, some of the players do seem a little "soft" like Drew and Youk. Drew's a given, but Youk the last couple seasons has broken down mid-season and fall off in the 2nd half.
  2. Haven't we already heard this "getting lost" story from Don & Remdog? Deja vu anyone?
  3. Lackey's a hick. Good luck teaching anything besides "Liquor... GOOD".
  4. Wow, what the hell happened to Bard this month. Another blown game on his shoulders if we can't come back.
  5. Luckily for us, it didn't take long. I really hope Buchholz can be ready for the playoffs. I don't want Lackey anywhere near this team come October (if we hang on to make the playoffs that is).
  6. The only reason I'm watching this game right now is because there isn't any football on. Youk clip on his injury. Shut up Youk, plenty of players go through the daily grind. Most of them don't break down every single season like you do. It's called athleticism and conditioning...
  7. I'll never understand why they kept relying on wake (signing him to be in the rotation/pen) the last couple years. The ONLY good thing you can say about him is "He'll eat up innings". Hell, he hasn't even been that the last couple years. Hasn't even touched 150 innings since '08, let alone giving quality innings. And just like that there goes the lead again. Why do they keep trotting him out there? Theo, your a f***ing idiot. If the farm seriously has no better options, our future is nowhere near as bright as you seem to think (Theo). Pathetic.
  8. I agree. If you can't get it in 9 tries, you probably don't deserve the milestone and should retire. Do not pass go, don't collect $200, go straight to retirement.
  9. Don't we just love Wakefield on the mound? Dude should have retired years ago.
  10. Wait, you guys are still watching? Thursday Night Football Baby! Wake me up when it's the playoffs...
  11. Seriously. We are supposed to have this awesome farm system that we aren't going to trade, yet we have absolute crap throwing on the mound every 4th and 5th days.
  12. I don't, he gave up 5 through 5 innings. The guys been average his whole career and he should have retired years ago. I'm sick of the loyalty some of these guys show. You are paying them for the PRESENT, not the past. Wake doesn't deserve 200 wins. I don't care how hard he works or how many times they give him the ball. He's had more opportunities to notch it than he should have, he's costing the team wins every time he takes the mound. Enough is enough. I'm just sick of how pathetic our pitching staff has ended up year after year. Enough with the long shots and questionable contracts. If Tampa can build a great rotation and be in contention with no money or fans, there's no reason we shouldn't be dominant.
  13. WTF! f***ing useless. Why did we trade for that f***. He can't do s*** right.
  14. Does Reddick have it in him? I say yes.
  15. Carl, you piece of s***.
  16. Can we PLEASE get Wake his 200th win next time out and be done with this whole ordeal. Way to go bard, you just guaranteed we will see Wake again...
  17. This is fun. Frustration release games are awesome. Stay ANGRY! and hungry.
  18. Jacksonian is right. I don't even care if he can be a serviceable 4th/5th starter. An "in the rotation by the hair of your teeth" 5th starter shouldn't be getting paid as much as the elite pitchers. I'm sick of having a quarter of this teams payroll contributing practically nothing. Lackey was brought in to be an Ace, I'm not at a point were I think "Oh, we can get something out of him". I'm at the point where if he doesn't start to turn it around early next year, his ass better be gone for good and the FO better not screw up another big contract.
  19. He's making $16.5 Million a year and this is what he's given us for far in almost 2 seasons now with the Sox: 5.0 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, 2.16 K/BB. The best rosy-colored glass in the world aren't going to make that look any less disappointing. Mentioning wins and quality starts is just reaching for straws. Wins is completely team dependent, it's why an otherwise cy-young contesting pitcher could have an awful record and Tim Wakefield have a winning record.
  20. Just got home to see the thumping. My biggest worry right now as that this team will again fail to play it's best ball when it matters the most: the end. Both Lester and Beckett haven't looked sharp like they did for the first couple months and forget the guys beyond them. I hope Bedard can continue to improve and get strong, but he is probably what he has been: a solid, middle-of-the rotation pitcher when healthy, but not a guy who can dominate tough lineups. Forget Lackey, he hasn't improved a lick in the second half, despite his lower (still awful though) ERA. I'm still not sure what to make of Gonzo right now either, let alone the health of other players and our RF situation. This is the most important part right now, momentum into the playoffs. They need to get healthy and start a run (hopefully near the end of the month).
  21. You're right, he doesn't beat up old people in roid rage. In all honesty, we will probably never see anything like the 04-07 Manny-Papi punch.
  22. Come on Gonzo, DO IT!
